morning ladies,
crafty how will you keep up with the thread when you're dead tired from being utd ;)
how is everyone today?
my ff membership is up today dont know whether i should renew it

Craftymum
06-07-2008, 11:29 AM
LOL Ringneck, one could only wish! If I'm lucky to get my BFP in the July thread I'll just use it to spread baby dust around the August TTC'ers!

I know what you mean re FF. I decided that I would not renew it once my subscription ran out this month and thought I would just use a month of the standard free package, but a lovely Bubhubber put me down as a referral and I got a month for free so I will continue on for a bit longer. Might be worth you keeping up your FF charting given your cycles still coming into line. Maybe just keep using the standard free package??

Gosh I just went to the toysale and spent $250 !!!!!!

ringneck
06-07-2008, 01:46 PM
yeah i'm going to use standard package that way i can still track temp, ff always changes my dates around anyway, so i'm just going to opk everyday from cd13 to cd25 temp, and jump dp till he's dead lol.
tell me about it we have 11 kids to buy for this christmas am doing the no deposit layby this week always costs about 400 bucks, but we do spoil them :o

chunkydunks
06-07-2008, 06:06 PM
I joined up with the standard free package with FF and have never used it. Too much hard work for me:laughing:. remembering to do the OPKs was hard enough let alone all the other stuff. I've been having lots of honey lately. Ever since I found out its a fertility superfood I've been going nuts with it.

How was everyones weekend?

Craftymum
06-07-2008, 08:05 PM
Chunkydunks - I didnt realise honey was a fertility food! Will have to have more of it!

Crystal - No worries, would love to colour you pink, so I'll put you down as unsure and you can update us! Hows the liquids going? All ready for your procedure. I'm sure it will all go well :hugs:

Well I had a nice weekend. Massage yesterday and christmas toy shopping today.

While eating a healthy, balanced diet, drinking lots of water, exercising regularly and avoiding alcohol and cigarettes is the best way to get your body in shape for a baby there are certain foods which are said to boost (or at least optimise) your fertility. By including the following foods in your own and your partners diet you can help to ensure that you are getting all the important nutrients you need to make a baby.

Whole grains

Whole grains such as oats, brown rice, whole wheat and quinoa are complex carbohydrates and so not only give you lots of energy for baby-making by releasing sugar into your blood slowly and evenly, but also contain an abundance of B and E vitamins that are essential for cellular reproduction, hormonal balance and the production of healthy ova and sperm.

Oily fish

Oily fish such as salmon, mackerel and sardines are the best source of essential fatty acids (EFAs) omega-3 and omega-6 which play an important role in regulating reproductive functioning, improving blood flow and enhancing sperm quality and mobility. Flaxseed oil is a good EFA alternative for those who don't eat fish.

Full fat dairy

Research has found that women who eat at least one portion of full fat dairy a day are significantly less likely to suffer from fertility problems that those who consistently go for low fat or non dairy options. Dairy products are also a great source of calcium which is important in the development and maintenance of the nervous system, bones and blood.

Garlic

Although not typically known as a food for romance, garlic contains an abundance of fertility boosting nutrients and can easily be neutralised with parsley. It's a great source of the mineral selenium which is thought to enhance male fertility and help prevent the chromosome breakage that may play a role in early miscarriage. Garlic also contains vitamin B6 which helps to regulate hormones and strengthens the immune system.

Lean red meat

Lean red meat is a great source of iron which helps to prevent anaemia, decreases the risk of ovulatory infertility and plays a role in the production and function of red blood cells. Red meat is also a good source of vitamin B12 which is essential in the maintenance and development of the nervous system.

Honey

Honey has been used to enhance fertility throughout history as it is incredibly rich in the minerals and amino acids that nourish the reproductive system and stimulate ovarian function. It's considered by many to be a fertility boosting super food.

Spinach

Spinach and other leafy greens are an excellent source of folic acid which is important in optimising sperm production, facilitating regular, healthy ova production and helping to prevent neural tube defects during early pregnancy. It is also a great source of iron and vitamin C which helps to enhance sperm quality by protecting the DNA stored within it from damage.

Oysters

It is the abundance of zinc found in this seafood delicacy that gives it its fertility boosting qualities. Zinc is often considered to be the most important fertility nutrient as it has been shown to help with both healthy sperm and egg production. If oysters aren't your thing, zinc can also be found in baked beans, eggs, nuts, whole grains and pumpkin seeds.

Chillies

These certainly 'spice' things up in the fertility department by increasing the flow of blood around the body, ensuring that the reproductive system gets a healthy supply. Chillies also stimulate endorphin production which means more fertility boosting, stress releasing, happy hormones circulate around your body and are also an excellent source of vitamin C which helps with iron absorption.

Avocado

Avocado provides a rich source of vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant and an essential fertility nutrient for both men and women as it improves the viability of sperm and helps to regulate both ovulation and the production of cervical mucus. It is also an excellent source of unsaturated fats which are essential for healthy hormone functioning, olive oil is another good vegetable source.

In general when trying for a baby it pays to go for good quality, unprocessed foods as these are likely to be much richer in vitamins, minerals and nutrients and also freer from pesticides and added oestrogens that may disrupt reproductive functioning in both men and women. By supplementing a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle with the foods listed above you will help to ensure you have all the nutrients you need to ensure your reproductive system is in optimum condition.

Hi everyone, I have started reading the August thread so that I don't have as much to catch up on by the time I have a testing date. This thread is going to be massive by the time August arrives (it will come quickly though because this year is flying by).
I don't have a testing date yet...will wait and see how July goes so I can see how long this cycle is (unless of course I am utd).

Babeone i was excited to hear AF arrived (i know that sounds strange but i experienced the same feeling of jubilation in being able to try again last week). I had been wondering how u were going..

Well i'm all prepared this month... AF has now finished... i have equipped myself with a BBT, maybe baby, and have bought some internet OPK cheapies!!! I'm on a mission to find when my egg is ready to be hunted!!! Watch out DH i am woman on a mission....

oh i feel so embarassed admitting to all of that...lol.. oh well... hoepfully i can be feeling :hair: again soon.... hahahahahah

Craftymum
09-07-2008, 01:49 PM
Hey Trixiebelle, good on you, sounds like you will have all guns firing this month!

Sounds like the only thing you are missing is preseed, or have you already got some of that too?:D

trixiebelle17
09-07-2008, 02:00 PM
hehe crafty... no i don't have any preseed... got to leave something for future attempts

i'm feeling less stressed this month... i know it prob sounds dumb, but my mum fell pregnant with me and all my sibs first cycle off the pill... i felt a little bit pressured last cycle to 'live up to' that... now that thats out of the way i'm feeling much more relaxed... just wanting to check there is a point in getting :hair: over a 2ww... i if get BFN's on the OPK's at least i know where i stand, but :fingerscrossed:i don't have to cross that bridge!

trixiebelle17
09-07-2008, 02:03 PM

Hi,

I have just joined bub hub after a long time "lurking around".

I think the advice and support that you offer each other is so wonderful and I am looking forward to joining this little family - although I wish you all the best and hope that we all don't get to cosy and comfortable here - I'm sure there is enough room for all of us in the "due in" threads.

Just quickly - I feel very blessed to have a beautiful little princess who is almost three. We have been TTC for almost a year and have just discovered endometriomas on my ovaries. Having a lap next week to investigate possible further endemetriosis and removal of it.

Could you please put me down as testing date unsure as I'm not exactly sure what will happen with my cycle after the surgery. Can anyone share with me what their experience was with lap surgery?

Thanks very much, in advance.
Happy bd everyone.

Oursweetheart - Welcome to bubhub and the August testing thread. Hope your laperoscopy goes well next week and you get your long awaited BFP. AF has just showed up so I can really get into the swing of things now. This was a 24day cycle as opposed to my regular 26 day cycle I've been having. I'll still test on the 10th though cos that will put me at 28 days and if AF hasn't shown by then I'll know something is up. I"m not stressed about the short cycles though cos I fell pregnant with DS on a 21 day cycle. :fingerscrossed: DH's op doesn't happen before I O. As horrible as it sounds he'd be out of action for around 6 weeks after the op.

Craftymum
13-07-2008, 06:29 AM
Kirsty - Wouldnt it be great if he has his op just after you O as then you can still be able to do this cycle and the next one! Goodluck hun :babydust2:

13-07-2008, 10:02 AM
Hi girls! Just letting you girls know that I'll be joining you. DH finally agreed to ttc bub #3 today. I think I'm more excited this time than I was with the other two, because everyone expected us to have two (including us), two kids is practically mandatory (for those who can). This one will be a wonderful surprise for all of our family. Well I hope so. We had to do IVF for the first one. The second one came naturally though, so I'm really hoping things will go smoothly this time. I'm also a bit older (33yo) but I'm going to try and be positive. I have a feeling that it was the stress of ttc that stopped me from getting pregnant naturally the first time, so I'm going to try and have a layed back (excuse the pun) attitude this time. I won't give you a test date yet, as I'm waiting for AF which should come next weekend. Thanks for reading my rambling.

Good luck everyone!

Ok girls help me out here, AF finished on july 5th right and thismorning I had a bit of spotting and now nothing..

TOTALLY WEIRD

it cant be "implantation bleed" coz i wouldnt have even ovulated yet..

Craftymum
13-07-2008, 04:41 PM
Haim - Could be breakthrough bleeding from ovulation? Probably around the right time if you O ealry in your cycle? Hope your getting busy incase! ;)

branjie
13-07-2008, 05:29 PM
Haim that is odd. Perhaps you've ovulated and not realised. Those tests can be wrong.

Have you had this before? It's probably nothing, but if you find that you're not pregnant, and it happens again, I would probably see your G.P about it.

I'm not saying no yet but looks like I might be out for august. DH's hernias aren't popping back in so he has to ring the surgen tomorrow and make an appointment. Knowing my luck they'd decide to get him in asap and that would be me out. I'm being selfish i know but after trying for this long the last thing i want is another 6 weeks of not trying.

i have a question - when i was on the pill i used to get AF for 3 to 4 days, but now i'm off the pill i only get AF for 2 to 3 days - is this normal? :detective:

branjie
14-07-2008, 11:03 AM
Haim the only time I've had that is when I've been pregnant. Hopefully that's what is causing it for you. If you find in August that you're not, I'd definitely go to the doctor about it, if you haven't had a pap smear in the last two years.

Goldleader I think it varies a fair bit between people. What were your periods like before you started the pill? Mine have been lighter since I stopped using the Mirena contraceptive (works the same way as the pill). I'm kind of glad :).

Craftymum
14-07-2008, 11:28 AM
Mumofava - Welcome, Will add you to our lucky BFP 's to come list. Goodluck!

Goldleader - Sorry cant really shed any light on your AF question. When I was on the pill mine were really light and about 5 days, now I'm off the pill they are heavy and about 4 days. Goodluck for AUgust!

Haim - If your spotting doesnt result in a BFP, I would definately go and see the doc and get a few BT's/internal u/s done to check things out just to make sure all is ok. I think its fairly normal to spot for a day or two before AF, but anywhere else in your cycle probably is worth getting checked out.

Dangerkitty

I am so frustrated! Totally thought AF was here (after my lap and stuff) but doesn't look like it! GRR! I don't know when to start temping again or what would count as CD1! When do I start OPK's again! Frustrating!

OK rant over :)

Crystal - :hugs:, you are so close to starting a fresh and getting right into TTC hun! I would definately start taking your temps, if you know what your pre and post O temps are you might be able to start to get a jist by temping atleast and monitoring your CP and CM. August is a LONG month - so you will be testing ;)

I was wondering, is it possible to ovulate 9 days after AF finishing?

Craftymum
14-07-2008, 11:43 AM
Haim - I read that its possible for the body to ovulate as early as CD9.....

If you have had AF for a couple of days, and then 9 days on, that would make you somewhere around CD13-15? Perfect time of O.

branjie
14-07-2008, 11:47 AM
I guess it is possible. Do you have short cycles, as short as 20 days? I don't think I've had a cycle that short, but my body doesn't exactly work like clockwork, so nothing would surprise me.

cocobambino
14-07-2008, 11:48 AM
I googled it and found the answer, i opened a thread incase others were interested.
I may have been O'ing and that spotting is O bleed, your cervix is low when you O.

I have 35 day cycles and AF lasts 4-5 days

I too have heard of women ovulating quite early. Anything is possible I guess.

Thanks Lisa, I am going to start temping tomorrow morning. But not sure where to mark it on my chart. What do you think? Start a new cycle or continue on the one I am on? Ahh so much to think about!

Hey Lisa, do you have MSN?

If it were me, I would still keep it on the same chart until you get your AF and then it will automatically start a new one for you which will hopefully end in a BFP for you :D....

Nope, dont have MSN, too many other things I'm in, and not enough time LOL!

I only finshed AF on the 4-5th of July but Im thinking maybe I ovulate on day 9 rather than 14 as I have done some research and every single thing i read is telling me im either Pregnant which then its implantation bleed or im Oing Ovulation bleed I cant be preggers coz I had a normal AF

Haimanatnom - Ovulation bleeding (from my experience) is more like a smear of blood in cervial mucus and is no where near as heavy as an AF, another thing is most things you read assume you O on day 14 which is a real pain. I usually O on day 21 the normal things dont apply to me. Do you chart or anything? Ive started this month it will be great to find out exaclty when Im ovulating. Im sick of the guess work :D

Well ladies i'm back from seeig my FS

Well she is lovely!! I Think she is great and she knows my old one really well and the have been talking bout me! All good she said!

Well tomorrow i have to fast and have blood tests in the morning! To see how high my insulin levels are! To see if i need to go on metformin(sp).

I have to change my diet to a low GI one which i have already done. I do this month on the clomid. Then if i need to go on the metformin she wants to give me a break off clomid. Next cycle will be a monitered one at RW. SO i am really excited. Things are really starting to happen. Just hope MY BFP comes soon!!

We also had a chat about shared care encase i want to go back home to have bubs! Which i think i will. I like the idea of haveing my family around us and knowing the doc who will be delevering bub!

Ok ladies I have a question.....:detective:

I'm due to o 17th/18th (depending on "what" I listen to lol) and for the past 2 days I've been getting a feeling that feels like slight period pain in my lower tummy. Should I be thinking that this is o pain?:o I've only had this feeling at o time for about 3 months now although I believe that I've been o every month for the past year. I don't understand why I've only started getting these feelings now. It seems obvious to me that it is o pain but I've noticed some other ladies explaining that their o pain is different to this.

Craftymum
16-07-2008, 01:43 PM
Mamacaz - some months i really feel ovulation pain and other months I dont and I feel it towards the end of my cycle in the 2ww - weird. They say that you shouldnt use O pains as a guidance to ovulation as its not accurate. Go by your temp and cm if you can. Goodluck!

i think i should prob be in the 2ww wait now... havent had much luck with my OPK's but the one i took this evening had only an extremely extremely faint line and CM seems to be thickening again... :fingerscrossed: for my BFP soon!

DH thinks im UTD, but admitted he thinks its probably wishful thinking... well hopefully i wont go too insane this 2ww wait cause my washing machine just packed it in, and now im going to have to run around following up the warranty (only 4 months old!).. and find out how to wash my clothes... should keep me busy for a few days instead of stressing out

hey jamaica... im cd 22 but i have long cycles (32-42 days)... If i change the settings on FF it tells me i 6DPO, but on the normal settings it hasnt picked up anything! If i am i only BD'd 2 days before O!!! which means DH's swimmers would need to have worked hard...lol

WELCOME Angeldreaming, Preggyin08, Simba6 & Gazelle! Good luck with your BFP's!!:fingerscrossed: Hope everyone is going well....

I just got back from my haematologist's appt. Not only do I have Factor V Leiden but I also have Antithrombin Dificiency. Now I'm even more prone to getting blood clots! Not what I was expecting to hear today. So I had to have more blood tests and they took atleast 10 vials of blood!!! I will need to go on Clexane after I fall pregnant and I would have to give myself injections!!:crying: Not great when you have a needle phobia! I have to go back to see him in 3 weeks. How do you ladies cope with the needles? Do you prefer to have the needles in your stomach or thighs? I'm dreading it but I know it will be all worth while. I've got an appt with gyno next Monday, which I am assuming will be giving me a referral to IVF.

Hi,

Just new to this site. I will be testing in August for baby #3. I have 2 sons - eldest is 11 and youngest is 7 - yes I know big age difference for this one - But me and hubby are very excited. However my first two were accidents :doh:and NOW here comes the hard part - actually planning, waiting, and not being able to think of anything BUT :bfp:.
Had the Implanon removed on the last day of my period in June. Always had a regular period while on Implanon) tried that week (as before Implanon - very fertile - preg with DS1 on Depo and preg with DS2 while on the mini-pill (may have missed a couple here and there though) got my AF last Sunday (exact 28 day cycle). So thankfully the Implanon has not messed around too much in there!! So we will be doing lots of Bdancing next week!! Hoping for a DD to join 2 big brothers - but another healthy baby boy will be as much loved - if 3 boys are in my plan. Please wish me luck :babydust2:

Welcome and good luck Hopeful31.

Talk about impatient, DH agreed to try for #3 about 2 weeks ago, but it's going to be another week and a half or so until I'll be Oing. It seems like this whole thing has taken forever, when in actual fact we haven't even started yet. Whinge whinge. I keep telling myself to think myself lucky that I have two kids, and not to get my hopes up re. # 3 but it is hard not to be impatient. The TWW will be better, as least I'll be in with a chance by then.

Good luck everyone.

Hopeful31 – Welcome, I hope your stay is nice and short and you get your BFP this month. Just let us know which date you would like to test, you can always change it!

Mumofava – Hi, your OPK could either be showing you are about to lead up to getting your LH surge, or its been. Just keep doing them daily or even twice a day and if they go lighter then you’ve had it, if they go darker then wait till your most darkest and then you will hopefully be ovulating if they go light again. The test line needs to be as dark or darker than the control line. Goodluck in catching the egg!

Courtney why does he think that? Maybe he was just looking for a bit of reassurance that you're not blaming him or something??? When you think of all the things that have to go right for someone to get pregnant, it's a wondering anyone does :). I'm sure it will happen in time for all of us.

Courtney - I agree with with Preggy08, he might feel a bit better if he is taking some supplements to help? Just tell him his produced 2 lovely children so of course he can do it!

Did anyone watch 'Rules of Engagement' on tv tonight? I thought it was hilarious tonight about the 'Super sperm!'.... If anyone doesnt watch it tonights was about this particular couple who have been experiencing infertility and he had a sperm check done.... after thinking it was his fault their specialist told him definately not as he had 'Super sperm' it was pretty funny

Hi everyone,

Just getting use to this site and all the abreviations :geek: ! Well I started my AFP on 20th of July - so early days. While on Implanon always had a 7 to 8 day AFP - but this one is just about gone - day number 6 :smiliedance:.
Not to good on dates etc so - what date do you suggest I test in August. Sort of trying for DD so am stopping bdancing at least 2 days before ovulation. But really want a third child - so I wont be devestated with another handsome boy. DH really wants his princess though - so feeling somewhat some pressure :shame:.
This site is great - sharing all our mutual emotions!! Fell pregnant so easily with my boys - and now im a little older - Me 31 and DH nearly 30 - hope things are still good for baby making :fingerscrossed:

WELCOME Mumofava :shakehands:. Good luck with your journey.

Thank you Cherri Belly. I would have to say that I am a huge wimp myself . I'm just accepting that this is part of my journey and I know that my BFP will happen. Positive thinking.....

Haimanatnom - I agree with Preggyin08 and Craftymum. Although my husband's sperm check came back normal, he started taking Blackmore's Men's Performance Multi vitamins. This was his idea and he feels as though he's doing "something" to help. Men can easily blame themselves for everything because they hate it when they can't "fix" a problem, no matter what the problem is. Just a little bit reassurance and guidance and he may pull through. Good luck :fingerscrossed:

Hope everyone else are staying positive:fingerscrossed: :babydust2:

Thanks for your reply Mamacaz - my thoughts are with you :babydust2:.

BB78 - I see you have 3 DS - and trying for a DD - are you trying any of the gender swaying methods??? I have read the book by Dr Hazel Christensen - Phillips. DOing the timing method and a CM - but cannot get my temparture right at all - it is too erractic - maybe it is my thermometer :hissy:. But my CM is my best indicator i think - and I have ALWAYS been a 28 dayer - so pretty sure i know when ovulation is.. :fingerscrossed: Good luck trying for your butterfly!! My DH is desparate for his little girl as there have been no girls born in his dad's side of the family for 50 years!!!! DH has 5 brothers - so we really need to think PINK!!!

I would love to join your august thread, please.

I'm not 100% sure of my testing date yet but will find out on Sunday after my embryo transfer, they usually test us 2 weeks later but being a weekend I dont know if the can rush results the way they do during the week.

Hi girls, I am confused... can you help?
This is my 1st mth TTC and using OPKs. I usually O between CD15 and 19 (according to BBT charting). This mth we started BDing on CD8 just for the hell of it and I used OPKs on CD10 & 11. The test line was light both days and according to the leaflet that was negative. Then ever since (CD 12-17) the test line has been completely blank! It is CD17 today I am wondering if I O'd early this month and maybe the light line on CD 10 & 11 was actually telling me I was O'ing or just had - but so early in my cycle? Is that possible?... Also I have cramps today and yesterday which is very unusual for me (sometimes I get it just before AF but never mid-cycle)?? Sorry to bug you all, but with our collective knowledge just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this....? Thanks, :)

Jamaica
25-07-2008, 01:01 PM
Angeldreaming - I cant really help but I had a similar problem. I did OPKs from Cd10-17 and never got a real + even tho I was testing twice a day :( Though my temp today and yesterday look like there own the way to showing that I Od.

Good luck and Im gona stick around to see what the other ladies can tell you, maybe it can help me too :D

Im only new to actually planning bubs - so I dont know that much - BUT from what i have read - most women can ovulate early - even as early as 5th day of cycle!!!! Makes it a bit hard eh??? Good luck to you hope your BFP comes ASAP :smiliedance:

BB78/WBB – Sorry to hear you have had to join us, but we would love your company! Have put you down for your testing dates – all the best.

Hopeful31 - Whatabout somewhere around 17th August if you generally have a 28day cycle??? That will allow you to test on your 1 day late after AF??

BB78 – Seeing as you have done a lot of research into getting a girl, do you know how many days before AF it is safe to BD without conceiving? I’m not allowed to get UTD this cycle with the laparoscopy but I know DH wont want to use anything!

Kema – Welcome, goodluck with your IVF cycle, just let us know a testing date when you know – all the girls in here are lovely and very supportive!

Angeldreaming – It is possible to O that early in your cycle, but if I was you I would continue OPK’ing right through your cycle as maybe for somereason something might of delayed O and you might still be yet to O? Some women don’t O till 20 odd days in their cycle – goodluck.

Mumofava – thanks for your well wishes! I’m starting to have second thoughts about the lap, but I know if I chicken out again, I’ll only wish I had of gone through with it so mayaswell keep this steam train going ahead to my BFP! Re your OPK’s when you say the test line was as dark as the control line then I would consider that your positive opk! - Goodluck with catching the slippery egg!

Kema
25-07-2008, 09:21 PM
Hi Girls,

Thanks for the welcome.

Regarding OPK's, we have to use them for our Thaw cycles as we do natural cycles.

OPK's are frustrating :hissy: but it doesnt matter how faint the lines are as long as they are the same. I spent a whole month testing, thinking I'd never see one go positive. Turned out I never o'd that cycle (thankfully a one off).

When you see one go positive, you will know. The test line shows up straight away & when my LH surges The test line is clearly darker than the control.

Craftymum - Laps are terrifying, but I find I always feel better afterwards, it's a step in the right direction & even though sometimes it feels like you would rather not know at least then you can power on.

Good Luck

Thanks Kema, I know it something I have to go and do as I am so over the spotting I get from 7-14DPO.... I just dont think thats normal so its going to be interesting to see if that improves after the lap, what they find, and if we can get a BFP if it stops!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I dont know if it was my post about my question on when I can bd up till to not get PG that has upset you, and if it is I am sorry as it was never intended to be critical in any way :(. I was mearly wanting to leverage off your knowledge as I knew you were trying the shettles method and this is what these threads are about, encouragement/support/knowledge sharing.

In no way at all did I call you an expert, I was just valuing your opinion. I thought I had been very supportive of you, both through the threads and through our pm's together.
