My 9 month old has started waking at four in the morning. :crying: Sometimes also at mid nite. This has been going on now for 3 weeks. Initially i think she may of been cold, so now i dress her in warmer clothes.. but she still wakes up! I actually wake up at 10mins to 4 and sure enough i hear her at 4am. I find that when i give her a bottle she goes straight back down but she only has half of it, so I'm thinking she's not really hungry. I used to have the perfect little sleeper! Have i started a bad habit by feeding her at 4am? I tried the dreamfeed at about 9:30pm.... That didd'nt work either, she just did not want it and she still woke up at four!
What am I doing wrong??

You are definately not doing anything wrong. You will find that babies change their sleep patterns quite often - especially when you think that you have them sussed!! My DS 1 used to wake at 4am and it lasted a couple of months :banghead: I tried holding out a feed on him but he just got grumpy so I just went along with his plan and eventually it changed - hang in there!!

Has anything else changed in the past three weeks? New foods, New sheets, anything at all? My little boy freaked us out over Easter when he woke up at 5am each morning and I was giving him his bottle then (instead of 7). Still didn't go back to sleep the first two mornings and the third morning he cried until we gave him panadol. I had recently stepped up to the next formula, he had his needles, we went to my parent's place for Easter and he had met goodness knows how many people. We think maybe he is teething too. It seemed it was all a bit much - the last night he woke at 1:30 and ended up sleeping with us.

He has settled down again - I was terrified of getting into a habit too. Maybe Maddy is teething - they do crazy stuff sometimes when that is going on. It can be different with each tooth too!

I sooo feel for you. Unfortunately, tis all normal. Apparently many babies between the 6-9 mth mark will start the dreaded 4am wakes. Mine does. He's been doing it on and off for the last month. There's actually another thread in here somewhere which a whole bunch of us sleep deprived mums complaining about the 4am wakes.

It's taken me a while to work out how to resettle Cameron, now 7mths at that ungodly hour but the only advice I have is to soldier on. Sorry I don't have anything that's more helpful!!
