a bit of background - early this year, DS was using the toilet during the day for all poos, and 95% of his wees. he was doing really well, and rarely had an 'accident'. he always took himself off to the toilet whenever he needed to go.

then one day, it just stopped. he refused to go to the toilet, and began weeing everywhere - on the carpet, on the couch, on ME! i dont know if something happened to make him scared of the toilet, but we thought that rather than push it, we'd let him wear nappies again (which is what he wanted to do)

now though, we're having huge issues at nappy change time. he screams, kicks me, runs away... anything to avoid having a nappy on. so i thought, he might be ready to start using the toilet / potty again.

but he's just weeing on the floor again. its not that he cant get there in time.. i just watched him walk from the laundry (where the toilet is) to the dining room and wee on the floor. and weeing on the couch.

he doesnt want a nappy on (and i'm sick of being kicked in the stomach when i try to get one on him) but he wont use the toilet.

HELP ME! what can i do?! i'm far too tired to be mopping the floor every 5 minutes

Maybe try putting him in nappy pants, they are fabric underwear with some extra padding, so that if he wees it gets soaked up by the pants. You can buy them in Best & Less for about $2.99 each.

And maybe start a reward scheme to encourage him to use the toilet again.

Do you have a special toilet seat? Maybe he slipped and fell on the toilet and its made him scared? Just a thought.

I have the toilet seat which sits of the toilet and has steps to climb up and has handles, so when dd1 sits on the toilet she can hold onto something. Bought this from Big W.

thanks

the training pants from best and less (and big W and kmart) are crapola - the wee just comes straight out the bottom!!!

yep, we've got the seat that you mentioned.... we think something may have happened at daycare, but of course, cant be sure....

i dont want to do a reward system, because i want him to learn that going to the toilet isnt something to be celebrated - its normal and natural. that probably doesnt make sense lol
