Does anyone have a good recipe for muslei bars? All the muslei slice recipes I have tried end up crumbly and not "chewy" like the real thing. Preferably dairy, rice, nut free, but I can substitute "our" safe things if these happen to be in your recipe.
Thanks everyone,
Katrina
Hi, this recipe always comes out chewey. It still cumbles a bit, but my kids like it.
1cup rolled oats, 1cup desicated ccconut, 1 cup puffed rice, 4 crushed weeetbix, 1/2 cup dried fruit, 1/2 cup rice syrup (I use honey), 1/2 cup of Eskal's no nut butter (made from sunflower seeds), 70 grams of margarine (I use Nuttlex dairy free).
Just mix it all dry ingrdients togther, put no nut butter, margarine & honey in pot and melt over low heat. Add to dry mix, press down well and refrigerate. When it is set, I cut it and store it in a airtight container in the fridge.
Hope your kids like it.
My son (6) is dairy, nut and egg free, but just grew out of soy finally YEAH....:smiliedance:
