hi all, just a quick question, our house is freezing! only a gas heater in our lounge and thats it, we do plan on moving soon so we dont want to put central heating in yet (cant afford it anyway) but i was just wondering what is the best way to heat our nursery? im worried about heaters catching fire and so on... whats the safest way to keep bubby warm at night? is there a safe heater? any advice would be awsome! :fingerscrossed:
there are actually wall mounted heaters which have just been released over the past few weeks they look exactly like a split system and cost $59 each easy to mount and nothing that goes outside, if you want i will get more info and post it for you.

Those sound like a excellent idea! I will be sitting here awaiting for more info!! :D
me too.........
Until now we have used an electric oil heater but Ava will be motoring around at some stage and we should have something that is not reachable for little hands.
They sound great!

We used an oil heater with a safety cutout. It kept the room nice and toasty with no external elements or potential sparks.

I cant wait to move thjough, in my old house we had central ducted heating and it was absolutely beautiful, here the only heating is the wall heater in the lounge
cool been looking for the two catalogues with them in but DH threw them out (typical) i know they sell them at true value hardware so i presume any hardware would sell them they are $59.00 not sure of brand but look just like a split system air con. i should be getting more junk mail tomorrow so i will keep my eyes peeled and if i see them i will scan and email it to you.

I too used an oil heater was alittle more expensive to run than other heating methods but was quick and constant heat in a small area. Our bedroomsa re really cold. It's wasn't a blowy heater which was what we needed.

wow thanks so much! i amextrememly interested to know more about these heaters! might have to go searching tomorrow
Another idea is a ceramic heater. My parents have one for when we stay and it's great because it is completely cool to the touch, will not ignite even if a tissue is placed on it and has an auto shut off if it gets tipped over. This model also has a digital thermostat so you can set it to 19C and it will only kick in if the room temp drops below that. The only other thing I can think to add is that it is one of the most efficient heaters to run costwise.
