Im still breastfeeding my 14 month old girl and we are looking at TTC this November.
I love breastfeeding her and have done a bit of reading on the hormone that is released during the suckling reflex and how this is the same hormone that brings on contractions. Ive also read that the level of this hormone that is released during suckling is no where near the amount required to produce a contracion.

I havent started to wean my girl off yet and dont really intend to - that is if it is safe to bf her while pregnant!

Apparently the my nipples might get a bit soft again and the taste of my milk might change which Sarah will let me know of when it happens.

What are other peoples experiences or what have you read?

At first I was a bit sceptical about the contraction factor but now that Ive done a bit of reading Im starting to think more and more that it would be ok although I might get a bit extra tired as Im feeding and also growing at the same time.

Id like to hear what others have to say on this

Thanks for reading

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and my DS is 12 months old. I am still BFing 4 times a day. This has been cut from 6 feeds. I'm not sure whether he's weaning because he doesn't like the taste or whether my milk supply has dropped. I've had a lot of pain throughout BF my DS, during early pregnancy my nipples did for a short while (3-4 weeks) become a little sensative but in comparison to what I've been through it was nothing.

I hope I can continue to BF my DS throughout my pregnancy and maybe even tandum feed when my peanut is born! But will have to see what hapens.

BTW just to let you know I had no trouble conceiving (happened 1st cycle we tried!) and I was tired at first but I wouldn't say it was much more than pregnancy tired!

Here is what the ABA says about pregnancy and BF. You have nothing to worry about it's completely safe unless your first was prem, then a doctor might advise you not to.
