i used to do cc but now i dont want to...

He is nearly 21months old. during the day is dh is on late shift he can lie down with him and get him to sleep no probs.

When im home alone is when its harder. because im breastfeeding my daughter i cant have him lie down still as much as my dh can. last night i had to lie him down alot of times to have him finally realise what i wanted him to do..

is this the right way to go about it? what else do u do without having to do controled crying. And without getting upset that there not sleeping

Any tips greatly appreciated.:D

i used to feed ds2 on the couch and dd would lie down the other end with her feet on me. DD was 2 when ds2 was born. I then would put her to bed when I had finished feeding. I tried cc but i cried more than dd :). Good luck and don't stress i do whatever is easiest for me and my family at the time.

First off, good on you for quitting the CC.

Have you tried looking at the rest of his routine? It sounds like he doesn't realise or accept it's 'sleep' time when he's with you... he may associate your DH with sleeping, so when he's not there, he can't settle.

I seriously recommend getting a good book, such as No Cry Sleep Solution, or The Baby Sleep Book by Dr Sears - both usually available through council libraries.

There's probably not one 'quick fix', but a range of smaller changes that can help ease him into a better sleep routine.

Good luck with it!
