Hi tjrmum. I almost went into shock when I saw someone had posted on here!:D Also hello to Bride83. nice to speak to someone familiar with the area.

I just check it from time to time when I'm bored but had pretty much given up. So what are your stats tjrmum? As you may have read in my signature, I'm due with my first bub in 9 weeks. I live with my partner of five years (DP). I've just started work at Woolies in Kal so you might see me around. Trying to think what other info to put..... oh, I live in South Kal. How about you?

I moved to Kal a few months ago but have lived here before for a stint about two years ago (worked for watsonia). I'm so relieved with the mild weather at the moment. Those 40+ degree days had me really worried for a while there!

Well hope to hear from you again. If you want you can PM (private message) me or write on this thread or otherwise I can often be found lurking in the April bubs thread.

*I still can't believe there's someone else from Kalgoorlie on bubhub! I've been on my own for so long.:p *

Hiya

Good to see that Im not the only Kal lady here

Ok my stats r - 3 boys aged 9, 2, and 3 months I have lived in Kal now for 4 years  with my DP of 12 years ( - Cant believe its been that long lol)and I also live in south Kal

I'm glad to that those 40 degree days r over too - I thought I was going to melt and seriously thought of getting a pool put in

I'll be looking out for the pregnant lady at woolworths now LOL - I dont work atm (just had a baby LOL) but am going to resume my studies at the uni - but not until next year - children are just at funny ages atm which would make it difficult for day care ect - so hanging out to do something though - Its driving me nuts staying at home :)

Well hope to hear from you

*yeah now there r 2 Kal Ladies on the bub hub :) *

I'm a checkout chick although not for much longer as I will have to quit soon. It is just too hard. On my feet for hours, heavy lifting, crappy aircon that doesn't work, etc. etc.

Beehive lady is so much fun. :D

Seems everyone in Kal (well at least those that come through my checkout!) have been having bubs early. Average seems to be 2-3 weeks before EDD. Hopefully I will follow the trend a bit. Would love to have him 02/04/06.

Haylie, I have 7 weeks, 2 days til my EDD. Not that I'm counting or anything:o

Please can the cool weather come back? 40 degrees is so not fun!

Hey There,

Sorry to jump in here but just wanted to say I think I know who you are talking about at Woolies! White hair, lots of makeup???

I moved from Kal back to Perth in May 04 after 4 years there and just got a flashback of hectic Saturday morning shoppipng at Woolies :p

tjrmum
17-02-2006, 12:45
Haylie > Yes Yes I have sent Lisa the in and outs of other little group LOL and yes I sometimes wish I could write a whole lot more there - but you know - grown adults and all that ROFL

Justcooked > I remember when I first moved to Kal and saw her - I did a doulble take at her LOL - But I think they r fairly standard with Woolie Stores - there seems to be a least one bee-hived lady at every shop - I think they come with the stores ROFL

Lisa > You'll have baby Davey in your arms b4 u know it and I hope you have a good couple of weeks/days at work b4 u finish up there - give a little smile to Ms beehive 4 me :p

Me > took baby Roman for his needles today :( He cried even before the neddles went into his leg - poor love

anywazzz off to take little people of to the swimming pool :)

Lisa&Davey
22-02-2006, 02:35
I have quit work:smiliedance: . I offered the required 1 week notice but they said I could finish Saturday if I wanted. They didn't have to offer twice!

Haven't had any serious probs just belly button hernia, threatening pre-eclampsia, UTI. All the usual preggo stuff but ob and DP weren't happy with me working. I will miss dear beehive. She's such a character. TBH I mostly shop at Coles too. Can't go past undercover parking and aircon that actually works. Also my sister Emma works there. So if you see a big fat pregnant whale waddling around Coles, that's me!

tjrmum, I'm not looking forward to immunisations for Davey. Maybe I will make DP take him. Hope baby Roman is okay. My niece seems to get sick after every immunisation.

Well i'm gonna go checkout your other site now. Meant to sooner but been v busy.

Hi Ladies I had to jump in on this thread as it made me home sick. I left Kalg in Sept 04 after 10yrs there. I loved the place but had to move after my DS was born. Being single and not working I couldn't afford to live there. At the time there was no childcare, the new one near the Oasis was only being built when I left. I took my boy back there for his 1st bday but this year we are having it in Perth. Alot of my friends are still there. I miss Kalg. :crying:

Sorry to have hijacked your thread.:D

06-03-2006, 17:37
You're welcome anytime Lynda :D

Unfortunatley we're a bit short on bubhubbers in central WA.

I'm originally from Perth (x Bunbury) but really love Kal. Maybe you will make your way back here one day. They have a few childcare places now.

Hi girls, I've just joined this site so I thought I'd say hi, this site is great. I also live in Kal with hubby and my two terrors, my 4 yr old son and just turned 2 yr old daughter. I can't believe there are actually other Kalgoorlie people on here as well. I was reading the previous replies and had a laugh about the "beehive" lady in Woolies (I know who you're talking about), she's becoming quite famous!!
Does any one else agree with me that Kal definately needs somewhere for the kids to go and play like a big indoor play centre, like some of the ones thay have in Perth.
Hope everything goes well with your labour Lisa, you haven't got long to go, that is if you haven't had bubs yet.
It'd be great to hear from anyone, bye-bye for now!!

31-07-2006, 14:11
Hello Shell

There are just too many sales on now - I dont dare to go into town because of it LOL

Do you like living in Kambalda?

Hiya everyone eles :)

rileysmum_wa
31-07-2006, 22:16
Thats the bonus of living in Kambalda, they are close enough to get to but far enough away to avoid

I dont mind living here, i miss the city though, i spent 2 years in Melbourne at uni and 3 years in perth. Can't get much different from city living than here...

Lisa&Davey
02-08-2006, 13:27
Hi Shell,

Glad you made it onto this thread. I always forget to check it as it doesn't get much traffic. It's so exciting to get another person on here.

My name is Lisa:wave: , I have a four month old little boy named Davey. I live with my partner of 5 years. Although with the hours he's working at the moment I hardly ever see him...

Man Kambalda is a big change from the city lights! Are you doing okay out there? I know a couple of people based there and my sister is looking at moving there at the moment as well.

I was born in Bunbury then moved to Perth in year 6. Been living in Kal for about a year. Kal reminds me of Bunbury when I was little so I really like it here. Next time you come here let me know and maybe we could meet for a coffee. (I'll take any excuse for Dome's mousse cake and an iced chocolate:p )

Well better go get some housework done...

Hi Lisa,

Sounds like a good idea to me.... great to meet another Dome addict too.... i can never seem to convince my partner to stop in there so i miss out all the time

Kambalda is an interesting place, I actually grew up here and then moved away... it changed soooo much while i was gone, but strangely enough Kalgoorlie didn't change much at all. I see more people that i recognise in Kal than i do out here :) Don't know when i will be in there next.... its like my second home though, so it wont be too far away...

03-08-2006, 19:27
Looking forward to it Shell (and Rhonda and Hayley!!):smiliedance:

Meanwhile if you ver want to chat about something feel free.

Not much going on with me at the moment. Although I helped DP build a shed tonight and we're feeling pretty proud of ourselves now it's all done. Hopefully it won't fall down during the night.

We also transplanted a rather large tree into the yard. There's a long road ahead but we'll slowly get our place looking decent. DP hopes to stay living in it for a while but being that it's a 2x1 I think it will start seeming very small once Davey starts walking.

rileysmum_wa
03-08-2006, 20:30
not much going on here either, we ended up doing a spur of the moment run into Kal today.... just got our tax back :) ... all gone now. I would have loved to have met up, but i didn't know we were going till we had already left...

We need some of your motivation out here, have a tree in the backyard that needs to be cut down so that we can build our patio. We've been in this house 6 months now and never seem to get around to doing it. It just looks like it will be a huge job, as the tree is right up next to the house...

Hayley, did you by chance go to Kambalda Senior High... if you did then we know each other....

Lisa&Davey
04-08-2006, 12:49
Hi Shell,

Sounds like you had fun with your tax check. Bummer you didn't know you were coming until the last minute but there's always next time I guess.

I actually have no motivation for anything. Procrastination should be my middle name.:D DP's the one in our relationship that gets stuff done. I just figure I should help once he gets started.:p

I'm pretty sure Hayley hails from another state so she's probably not the Hayley you're thinking of. Is Kambalda bigger or smaller than it used to be? I used to do deliveries out there for Watsonia (supplying delis abd stuff) and parts of it looked like a ghost town. Particularly west Kambalda I think it was.

Well, bubby's due to wake up any minute so I better finish hanging out the washing.

Catch you later.

I spend a couple of years in Spearwood, a year in Eaton, 5 in Merredin and was born in Northam, I am loving Kal atm the only thing that gets to me is the distance from everyone, not having any family around has its disadvantages LOL
