I am sure we are fine, but I was taking a load of washing to the line downstairs, I was walking on the inside of the house, and in my socks. When I slipped on the last two steps and fell onto my knees on the floor.

I just sat there stunned for a few minutes then got up and hung up the clothes. I think we are alright, I don't feel any pain, but I am waiting for bubba to move again, as he has been wriggling all morning.

Would this have caused any problems?? It wasn't really hard when I hit and it would be like just dropping to your knees from standing.

Please just help me ease my mind.

Eliza I'm sure you'll be fine...apparently it's very unusual for any impacts to hurt the bub because they're so well protected by your uterus & amniotic fluid...even major trauma like a car crash is unlikely to cause a miscarriage. :hugs: Just take it easy for a while & your body will tell you if there's anything wrong.

I think you will be fine, you didn't land on your stomache. I fainted when preg but that didnt harm the baby. I didn't even think of it harming but heard later on if you faint that you should get it checked out but i think thats for other reasons.

My cousin fell off her horse which then rolled on her at 18 weeks.

At 32 weeks she had another car smash into her drivers door.

She's fine.

Top that and then we'll talk!!

Thanks ladies, keep the stories coming. Its good to hear that bubs are pretty tough :D

Mine has been kicking some more, so I am feeling much better, although you can't help but worry can you? And it will never stop!:p

No you can't help but worry and believe me it never stops no matter how old they are!

Bubs are very well protected in their environment. My sister in law was in a car accident which rolled the car off an embankment when she was 20 weeks pregnant suffered whiplash and seatbelt burn and bubs was fine.

Good luck and congrats with your pregnancy. We find out tomorrow what our next little bundle of joy will be (can't wait):smiliedance:

I wouldn't worry, I've had two major falls ...one at 16 weeks and one just last week. I ended up in hospital to be monitored for the last one but the nurse said baby was absolutely fine, but I needed a bit of attention lol. I bounced right on my tummy...was very scary...

Yep, another successful 'faller' here. I was mowing the lawns at about 28 weeks and when I placed my foot down I realised I was about to roll my ankle so I shoved the mower away as hard as I could and landed on all fours on the ground. A bit shocked but did a quick double take around me to make sure no-one saw-more pride dented then belly dented.:)
