Hi Everyone,
Have finally signed up today. I am over reading books and searching the internet so thought I would come straight to the horses mouth!!!
I am 32, three children and trying again. My son is nearly 8 born 5 weeks early,no p/a. Second child, she is 6, was 7 weeks early and had p/a. Third child (our beautiful daughter with the angels) born 14 weeks early from placenta abrution, she only lived for 2 days. I know all evidence points to the fact that we are going to embark on a "high risk" pregnancy. It still doesn't mean that it will happen again, the doctors say they know what to look out for now. Truthfully, we are very fearful. Anyone else faced this problem.
Many thanks
Lissylou

:hugs: first of all big hugs to you for being so positive, p/a is so devestating :hugs:
I have not been through it personally, but my sister lost her first baby to p/a at 27 weeks. I was with her and it was the hardest thing to go through.
She has gone on to have 2 more beautiful kids with no trouble, however, she did have lots of trips to the OB, lots of scans and had all of them early by c-sec.
Not sure if I can be of much help, but you can PM me if you would like to talk
I can't think of anything to say that might help, except that my thoughts are with you and my fingers are crossed :fingerscrossed: and I hope that everything goes well....

Thank you Roxi, exactly what I needed to hear, your sister went on to deliver 2 beautiful children. I know how traumatic it would have been for your sister, and yourself - the support person- my husband is scared ! But first things first, TTC, without stress!
Been trying since December 05, trying to keep busy and think about other things.

Hi Lissylou

I had a placental abruption at 38 weeks with our first daughter (had a c-section the day it happened and luckily all was fine.) We had our second baby by c-section 5 months ago and the pregnancy was pretty much fine the whole way through. When I fell pregnant the second time I was really concerned that it would happen again but my obstretician said there was no evidence to suggest that just because I had already had a p/a that I would have another one. Also, he told me to make sure I took Folic Acid as apparently this reduces the risk of p/a.

My very best wishes to you and I hope everything goes well.
