Speak to your clinic. Here in NSW it is not illegal.
If your fertility clinic won't even think of it, call another. Some do, some don't.
She won't need the same drug protocol but they will do a lot of tests first.
thanks all for the replys, apparently we can do it, FS is cool about it, but the process sounds abit confusing to me.
anyone ok to share a personnel experiance or tips??
Ask away Katiana. I'll promote surrogacy till the cows come home, lol.
^^ thanks, i just read ure story on another thread, may i ask did u have to go thru like counselling and stuff? like what are the processess...does that make sense?
ive just been having these dreams that, I get refused to be part of the process...even thou its my emby goping into her???
bloody hormones :D
Each clinic will have its own protocol for counselling and tests, and yes she probably will have some talks without you. Sometimes they presume she'll want to say something without you being there. ( I personally found this a little offensive - if I couldn't talk to the parents what on earth was I doing having a child with them? )
If you're using the same clinic as you did for your own transfers, it will probaly be the same regime you did.
Assesment tests. Blood tests for diseases and immunities. Checking on thyroid function, hormone levels. Pelvic ultrasounds and overall health check, etc.
Cycle timing. Sometimes they'll start with lucrin to put her cycle in no mans land and then kick start it when they want it with the Pill. Sometimes they'll just start the cycle of Puregon help when she's ready. ( read here approx day 5-6 ).
Then closer to ovulation she might get a Pregnyl or oviridel trigger. Then transfer, some follow up Pregnyl support and the dreaded 2 ww.
Sometimes they clinic will say the surro is healthy just do the transfer when she's optimal and let her natural hormones kick in. Some will control it with progesterone pessaries. It will depend on the clinic.
And unfortunately the jury is still out on which way has a higher success rate.
i had the same thoughts about the talks, we can say everything in front of the other, and she doesnt get it either....
thanku for the post. its nice to hear from someone who has been thru it.
