I don't know where to start.
Perhaps i'm just being over the top because my first child was such an angel.
DS is just a nightmare.
I didn't know if i should post in sleeping issues/feeding/weaning issues or reflux.
The first 12 weeks of his life was horrible with terrible colic. Then he instantly turned a corner and we had nights of sleeping through, smiles and days of very little tears.
Now.... in the past two weeks it's as though i've returned to the colic days.
He has a great deal of reflux. Always vomiting all the way through to his next feed. I haven't been medicating as once his colic ceased he was happy and the reflux didnt' seem to bother him.
Now he's six months and in the past two weeks we've started on solids, he's started alot of rolling around on his belly and we've all had the flu.
He's waking screaming and will usually fall asleep on top of me, but there's no transferring him to his cot. and max forty mins naps during the day. He is capable of putting himself to sleep. He'll do it 50% of the time.
What could his problem be........
Could the reflux now be hurting him?
Could it be the flem from his cold?
Could it be sore gums? (i can't feel any teeth coming through).
Could it be wind, bowel pain with the commencement of solids?
I've tried panadol, bonjela, infacol, dimetap over the past couple of weeks trying to work out what's wrong and what will help...... nothing.
Now my MIL has been putting thoughts into DH's head suggesting DS could be alergic to something ie. my milk.
Argh, what to do, any thoughts. He's very trying to put it nicely.

Read your post back and you'll find you actually answered your own question. He changed 2 weeks ago. You started solids 2 weeks ago. I think that's your answer.

My ds had (still has actually) reflux and starting solids was a nightmare. The basic rule was that if he got even a tiny bit constipated his reflux would flare up. So, it was no farex (and I mean NO farex), minimal banana, minimal custard and most importantly LOTS of pears, apricots and apple. Although I know apple sets off reflux in other bubs. Basically he needed a tub of pureed pear each day or we'd be in trouble and even then we still had a few bad days. And if your bub was on reflux medication in the past, then put him back on it until this all settles down.

If that doesn't help see your GP cause clearly something has changed. But I seriously doubt it's anything wrong with your milk.

Ok what you need to do IMO is start eliminating issues, easiest is teething: try bonjela, cool facewashers to suck etc, if that doesnt help try burping very thouroughly to help with wind, you could also try infants freind, gripe water etc which you can get from the chemist for colic.
Does he obviously have a cold atm? runny nose etc, because getting sick can cause reflux to flare back up.

If you have tried a few things and nothing works then you could start adding infant gaviscon to his bottles (check it's ok for him to have it with our chemist), if that doesnt work then the next step would be seieing your GP about reflux meds or whether it might be worth trying eliminating CMP from his diet.

I also agree with mim1's post.

Ok, that's so helpful. I actually backed off all other foods except rice cereal and pureed apple. Thinking i'd keep it simple. Today i did give him some puree carrots.
I will certainly take your advice on that one then.
Thank you both very much.
