I know my 2 year old is a girl BUT sometimes I think she should have been a boy, she loves to play with the following toys:
Mr Potato Head
Woody Doll (loves watching Toystory DVD)
Wooden Blocks
Painting (I'm letting her use water paints - easy to wash out of her clothes)
Wooden Train Set
Match box cars
Hope this helps.
Hi,
our boys are only 2 days apart, so I can tell you, what I'm getting my 2 year old..
he's getting one of those 3 wheel scooters, some bob the builder vehicles (not sure yet, if I get the small ones or the big Muck or scoop they have at big W) plus the trike from K Mart, with the sunshade and the parenthandle :)
He loves being outside but has heaps of ride in toys and so I figured, a trike would be good, it would replace the pram and he could use it later on, to learn to pedal and so on.
Always a hit, for my boys, are the Tonka Trucks. We have about 3 or 4 out in the yard and there's no day, which they're not playing with them. I would have loved to get the fire rescue truck from K Mart but since they already have that many..
My 2 yo isn't so much into drawing or books (neither is his big bro) so I won't get something like that but I do love the play dough activity table. I think it's great.
Or maybe some Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars? My boys love playing with those.
Trains are also a big hit here, when his big bro is at daycare, he spends ages in playing with the engines..
Hope to give you some ideas :)

We are looking at the castle thingo for DS for Christmas. He loves the dolls house at playgroup and I know DH will love playing this with him (although I will have to remind him there is no strategy to this and it is not like his warhammer stuff ) otherwise we are thinking about outdoor stuff. DS does love his swings etc he got for christmas and his bike if you dont have these already

I'm kinda stingy (cant really justify spending heaps on toys etc) so all i'm "planning" on getting my DD for her 2nd bday (nov) is one of the large foldout sofa thingy's from target, and for xmas - a clam shell thingy and a frog chair from kmart, and a bag or two of balls for the clam shell from big w....
It may not be much, but my family spoil her rotten, so i find that i rarely need to buy much at all, which is really good....

My DS is 18 months and I just got him one of those pop-up tents with a little tunnel then filled it with a bag of balls- he adores it, probably the best toy yet. We also recently started playing with chalk on the pavers in the back yard, luvs it and so easy to clean :yelclap:
