It then stopped and returned again at 5 weeks and now still here at 6 weeks, but the bleeding is more extreme than what it was before and now there's fluid blood and blood clots....is this my body getting back to normality or this odd???
i have been to the doc's and they told me this is normal  .....haven't been to my ob post-natal as yet so cant ask ob.

Can you ring the hospital you delivered at? They should have an advisory or follow up phone service. Or at least you could chat to one of themidwives.
It could just be your period too. Very unlucky if it started this early but it can happen.
I bled until 6 weeks, it varied in flow/amount. It stopped for a week and at 7 weeks returned with a vengence (sp??)- it turned out to be the return of my period, and it was heavier than any period I have ever had. I must have been real unlucky as I was exclusively breast feeding but it still returned. I have since had periods and they are easing up and returning to normal. I find that when I have my period it affected how bubs breastfed- my hormones must be yukky to taste :p
Check with your dr just to make sure alls good

Hi there,
I bleed for 7 weeks after birth before any doctors would listen to me that it wasn't just my period. I kept going to back to the hospital where I gave birth but they just kept telling me that I had my period, yet I hadn't stopped bleeding for the whole 7 weeks, as well as passing clots. My GP sent me for a scan and suprise suprise I had retained membraines, she even rang the hospital and when I went in, they were still telling me taht it was my period. I finally went and saw a private Ob/gyn, was sent for another scan and put in hospital the next day for a D&C. If you think that it may be more than your period, keep persisting until something is done, especially if you are passing clots.
Good luck

Hi There.
I bled for seven weeks after the birth of Jayden before I jumped up and down so much that I knew it was just not a period that they did a ultra sound and there was retained product. Simply a curette and was all fixed but my advice. ... just ask for the ultra sound. It is no different to when you were pregnant and that way you know before any nasty infections set in.
Good luck.

i am very much the same. i had my daughter 4 weeks ago. some days its not there, some days it is and some heavier than others. it is annoying i know. all you can do is live through it. the docs told me the same thing.
