BIRTH STORY
My due date was the 10th of may, well this day came and went with nothing happening.
I woke up the next day (mothers day!!) with mild cramping and thought nothing of it but by 9am they were coming every 5 mins and lasting for 60 secs so i called the hosp midwife and she told me to stay home as long as i could.

At 11am i couldn't handle the pain anymore so i called the hosp again and let them know we were coming in.

We arrived at the hosp at about 1130am and i was taken into the womens assesment so they could monitor the contractions and do an internal.
Apparently the contractions weren't strong enough or lasting long enough and then i was told i was only 2 cm dilated and this stage was called pre-labour and could last a whole week.

I told the midwife i thought she didn't know what she was talking about . She then gave me the option of going home until something happened or staying 4 hours to see if things picked up. I decided to stay.

I wasn't coping with the pain at all, and started having anxiety attacks and was begging for an epidural (Which the wouldn't give because i wasn't in established labour) FINALLY they offered me pethedine which i originally didn't want.

The pethedine didn't help at all, and i basically spent the next 2 hours walking around having contractions.
At 2:45 i begged them to do another internal, and they found i was 6cm WOOHOO I could finally have my epidural.

The midwives took me up to the birthing suite and i got to have some gas... things were progressing well and the epidural man came in to give me my epidural, he couldn't find the space he needed so after 2 attempts he told me it wasn't going to happen

I was not happy at all, and started freaking out because i had an epi with my DD and then the pushing sensation hit me. It was the weirdest feeling ever, i felt like i couldn't control it.

I pushed DS out after 3 pushes and tore quite badly, but it wasn't as painful as i thought it would be.
DS came out blue and in shock at his quick arrival.

After the birth i spent 4 days in hosp to get the breast feeding under control, i stayed at home for 1 day and then was re-admitted to hosp with severe PND.
Was in hospital for a week getting treatment and conselling.

Jackson is 7 weeks this sunday & everything is wonderful he is a calm beautiful lil boy. He is still breast fed, sleeps 11pm-5am at night!! and is content. I couldn't ask for a more perfect baby.
