View Full Version : Reusable swim nappies
I'm trying to find the best swim nappy for my 18 month old son. He's not a small little guy either!
We've always used the disposable ones but I'd like to save a bit of money and even if he wears the nappy 15 times (which isn't hard) I've made my money from the reusable one. We are heading overseas for a vacation and packing one swim nappy will be much easier than packing several packs of them!
If you use reusable swim nappies can you please give me your feedback on what brands are good to use?
Thanks heaps!

We just use a GreenKids pocket without any stuffing and that works really well.
We got a Splashabout (off the web) one for DD - made of wetsuit material, so nothing leaks out, but has lycra bands on legs and waist - we certainly had no issues with it and dried super quick too, so DD wasn't putting wet swimwear back on

I can tell you what not to buy:laughing:
A fluffies brand swim nappy from the shops. When you baby has a wee it all just comes straight out onto the ground.
A nice look when your chatting to the other mums around the pool:o

As far as I understood it, swim nappies aren't supposed to contain urine though - only solid waste...
Chlorine in the pool will neutralise urine, so its really a non-issue...but a poo floating around in a pool would be a rather large issue! :p

same.
And swim nappies aren't meant to hold wees... as soon as you put bubs in the water they'd absorb all the swimming pool water to maximum anyway... so wouldn't hold a wee if bubs did one anyway... they're just meant to contain 'messes'
I use an empty GK pocket that the PUL stopped working on ages ago... and just put a small microfibre cloth in it in case he does do a wee before we get in the water.

We use a brand called PeeCees. I just got them at our local sports shop. It's good to have two pairs in case of any accidents while you're swimming.
