View Full Version : Opinions - Cot Sheets
Hey There
Just wanted to ask a question? When buying cot sheets sets, does anyone use the pillow cases that come with them, or do you feel that you would prefer to buy the sheets without the cases?
I have bought a few sets and have these spare cases!
Looking forward to knowing what you think...
:smiliedance:
Cheers
I too brought the cot sheets with the pillow cases, but I don't use them.. I only use the fitted sheet also!

It really annoys me that it is near impossible to buy seperate sheets for cots and even basinettes:thumbsdown: If I could have found them i would have gotten only fitteds and maybe a couple of flats. I think it is a disgusting rip off that you have to buy in sets!!! Can you tell this frustrates me?? It jst makes me mad - it is widely known that you are not supposed to put a pillow in the cot for safety reasons yet these companies continue to make pillow cases!
There was a thread a while ago about all our inventive uses for the useless pillow cases!! We have soem very crafty ones here! All mine are sitting unpicked ina oile of things I have every intention of sewing into something sometime in the next 10 years!

I also found the pillow cases useless, Although if you plan on using a basinett at first they make a good cover for the matress. Buying a sheet set for a basinett is a waste imo. I bought cot sheets that don't look too babyish, so that i could use them and the pillow slip down the track.:)
pillow cases may be useful to catch dribbles and mess
my baby wears a sleeping bag at night so only needs a fitted sheet
everything has a practical use
even if it isn't for its initial intention
for the cot i only use the fitted and flat sheets i put the cases away so that when theya re in their big bed and have a pillow the cases actually get used then as they need them on hteir small pillows.
You can buy fitted cot sheets seperately at IKEA, but only in white, I think. I've also seen the single fitted sheets at BabyCo, but that was a while ago. :)

Pillow cases are great for day care to keep your child's sheets in. Otherwise, keep them for when your child is in a big bed. I find I only use fitted sheets at the moment and find flanette ones the best.

My mum also said that it would be a good idea to use the pillowcases as fitted sheets for the bassinette as they fit snugly - just the right size!

i got a few sheets seperatly at target :)
my DS uses a cot pillow i know the recommened age is older then my DS but he sleeps alot better with it  so we use a pillow case.
i dont have children, however pillow slips make great 'fitted sheets' for new baby bassinetts ;)
I have 2 sheet sets.
One came without a pillow case anyway and
the other came with a full size pillow case I put a pillow in and have sitting on the feeding chair in the baby's room.

I agree, I use pillow cases in DS bassinette. They come in handy. Now that I have started buying cot fitted sheets it is frustrating that they come with sheets and a pillow case. Its a waste!
