View Full Version : Should I take the pram?
I'm taking DD(2.5) to NZ on thursday and having a dilema deciding if I should take the pram or not. It's a Phil & Teds, so quite large(not heavy) but bulky to take if I don't need it. If it was an umbrella, I'd take it in a flash, but DD walks most of the time and the only day I'm really thinking I'll need it is for the friday when we plan to do a bit of shopping(easier than chasing after her:laughing:).
Do you think it's worth taking it and carting it around for the sake of 1 day?
BTW - we're only going for 4 or 5 days total.

can you buy a cheap umbrella stroller or hire one when you get over there? I wouldnt take a big pram unless you would use it heaps.

I would get a cheap umbrella stroller (they are only $30 or so) or borrow an Ergo carrier from someone if you dont have one. I always try to travel as lightly as possible!

Do you need it for nap times? If not I'd do what the others said and buy a little stroller.

I would buy a cheap umbrella stroller, or borrow one if you can.
I travelled to Canada to visit in laws with my then 6 month old and took the stroller. It was good for me as we were there a month and she obviously wasn't walking, but you do need to take them out of the stroller to get through security at the airport and fold them up to go through the scanner, so if it is heavy, it would be worthwhile getting a cheap umbrella stroller.
Are you able to find out if the shops you are going to hire them??
take your pram!!!!
you can have the pram right up until you board and then pick it up at the other end and its blooming fantastic we just did a trip with a 3 and not quite 1yr old to nz and went everywhere with ours he (3) was in it just as much as 1 was . and it helped as he knew it was his pram!!, do you have family in nz? i did and bought a stroller too while i was there and left it with them they have some great cheap prams there and if you are unsure you can always get one there.-- but to save the hastle i just took my own
BEST WISHES for a fantastic trip and have lots of fun
oh and the shops are like ours too you can hire a pram and you can get one at the zoo, and a couple of other places so if you dont end up taking yours it is still possible to borrow one
