View Full Version : The Pros of catnappers....
With what seems to be allot of Mums here frustrated at their catnappers I thought I would be good to go through a few points as to some of the good things about them....
(Im talking 'happy catnappers' those who are happy in between naps, no one wants a grumpy sleepy catnapper!)
* I dont have to worry to much about when she is due to have her day sleeps, i can either wait for her to wake shortly or just go out and she can nap in the car and by the time i get there her sleep is over and she is refreshed! No waiting around for an hour or two nap to finish before going somewhere!
* I get more time with her and she gets more time up and about learning and playing.
Anyone have more to add?
LOL - loving this thread already.
Can't comment as I am not sure if DS2 is turning into a catnapper or not (I suspect he is). I will be watching though to see what others have to say!
What? Noone had anything good to say?

I dont have a catnapper anymore but dd used to be. Now she is up at 3 and 4 hour intervals so its a long wait in between my 'break' times  where as when she was a catnapper yes they were short breaks but they were more often so it 'evened out'.
But I know she wont have naps forever :hissy:

I love this thread! I am with you NicoleE! I love that I can still plan my day and I know that if Z needs a sleep we can still be out the door within an hour so it doesn't throw my planning out too much and I love love that we get to play more!!

Similar to above, I find that at most I will only be 1/2 hour late to anything as that's the longest bub will sleep. I find myself planning catch-ups with friends by fitting in with their bubs sleeping routines - so I get to be the easy going one!
And, at least you're not disappointed if they don't sleep for long, because they never do!! You also get used to going with the flow and not having too strict a routine.
My DD2 is a catnapper and has been since birth - she's nearly 9mths like Nicole's (OP) DD.
With having an active toddler, its great to have a catnapper, as we don't have to structure our day and routine around DD2's sleeps - she mostly sleeps in the car or before or after our outings (which are mostly in the morning).
It means we have more time to play with her, we can tire her out and she sleeps more at night :yelclap:
