so has all the carers received their letter of recognition from the government?

hubby got the mail yesterday and it wasn't until very late that he remembered to tell me i had mail.

i opened it to find a letter of recognition for the important role and contribution I make as a carer. it also states that carers perform a vital role in our community by caring for the aged and people with disablitlies.

i was quite impressed with this letter.

i actually want to frame it and hang it up for all to see!

Then next time DH wants to complain about the lack of housework i have done, my nanna nap after lunch on the weekends or anything else i will say " hey the government recognise the important role i play in the community, my job is so much more vital to the community than to worry about a load of washing or a non vacuumed lounge!" then i will enquire as to the not so important role he sees himself playing in the community, i mean he didn't get no letter of recognition, now did he????

Congratulations. You deserve it.

Next time your DH gives you grief, just ask him where his letter is

yeah linda, i got it too!!! It feels great to be recognised! When people ask me my occupation i always say 'homemaker' but now maybe we should be saying 'carer'??

Im glad the letter came, and it feels really special to be given the bonus too.

Pat on our backs to all the carers!!! :yelclap:
