Hi all,

Hoping you can help me with some ideas on what to get for baby shower gift, sex unknown, which makes it harder, never been to a baby shower before, and was wondering, as when the baby is here i normally get a baby gift, so at a baby shower, is it more stuff for the mum, bub or both,i was going to make a nappy cake when the baby is born.

Any ideas or advise would be appreciated. oh yeah, i found some cookie cutter on ebay in,shapes of a dummy, bottle and a baby foot, i thought i could make some nice bikkies to put with what ever i get????

I usuall buy a small laundry basket or nappy bucket then fill it with all bits and pieces i can find like a couple singlets, socks, nappy bags, baby wipes etc. all things that i know will come in handy, kind of just like making a little hamper. At least its a handy present that will get used.

I received a cutlery set at my baby shower from one lady. It was so nice. I think it was Wiltshire brand. It was something different and suited what ever sex child i had.

I do similar to rmumr - wipes, nappies, nappy sacks, mittens etc you can never have enough of and something that I would have liked to have been given is pyjamas for bub....

Some other nice ideas of things I got after bub was born cause i didnt have a baby shower was a baby record book and a fingerprint mould set....

My favourite baby shower gift was a t-shirt my sister had custom made for me.

It's "simply colors" brand - if you google it you'll find the web site.

On the front it's printed

50% "my name"
50% "DH's name"
100% ME

You could get one printed on a neutral colour since you don't know the bub's gender.

 I got one for my shower and think it's a great idea. I use the basket in the lounge now to keep spare bottom changing supplies in it. I have since made on for my cousins baby shower and added other things too like a fold up change mat, and one of those safety first packs with a thermometer and fingernail cilppers etc in them. Have fun :D

I'm getting my sister one of these http://www.demdaco.com/detail.aspx?ID=10286 or a 'mother & baby' mag subscription, I haven't decided yet. I usually do the nappy thing but I wanted to do something different this time :)

:iagree: mag subscription is a great idea Practical Parenting is a good one.

The best present I got was a family photo shoot voucher. Oh, and a scrapbooking album.

You can never have too many hooded towels and matching washers. You can get some really nice ones in white or other neutral colours.
