Hey Guys,
Just woundering.... My buba has been crawling/getting around, for 2 months now and just woundering if anyone else has had a baby that prefers to push themselves around on thier belly rather than crawl on all fours..... if so did they eventually get it right or did they go from army crawl too walking....Buba is pulling up on the furniture and starting to shuffle along the furniture slowly and seems to be happy with what he is doing...Ta

Andrew was commando-crawling at 8 months and also pulling up on furniture at that stage. I think it was near 10 months that he figured it out and started doing a 'proper' crawl on all fours, and then 11.5 mths walking.

They're all different! They'll only do what they want to do, and what works for them - sounds like your little one is going great guns! :smiliedance:

The dude has been commando crawling since about 7 months, and shows no signs of getting his tummy off the ground now at 9 months... He loves his commando style  .

Isobella has been commando crawling for quite a while not but always BACKWARDS.. until yesterday she began going forwards :D:D

She has also started pushing up on her hands and knees and rocking so I think its only a matter of time before shes really off and racing.

As far as I know its quite common for bubs to start out crawling like this and as they get stronger they crawl the 'normal' way. Some however, never do... and they go from army crawl to walking :)

Ozzy commando crawled for about 4 or 5 months then he just crawled! Now he is walking.

He started commando crawling at 6 months then proper crawling at 10 and a bit months and walked at 12 and a bit months.

hi Emmy was commando crawling from 6 1/2 months but has been proper crawling since about 8 months, she is now standing and pulling herself around the furniture. A friend of mines son only did like a bum bounce to get around and he has been walking properly since 11months. I also know of two mums whos children went straight from commando crawling to walking, 1 at 12 months and 1was at 16 months, so there really seems to be a wide variety of answers for you.
I love the commando crawl its soooo cute:D

my DS commando crawled for about 2 months before actually crawling off his tummy at 6 months.it took him a while when he was commando crawling to figure out how to move around.even then when he got to off tumy crawling he only knew how to go sideways and backwards for a month:laughing:
