Info on melbourne living?

hello,
I will be moving to Melbourne towards the end of the year. The only problem is i wont really know anyone and the people that i do know dont have kids.:o
what i was wondering is are there any mothers groups or get togethers that anyone knows about?
i will be moving near Ivanhoe as that is where my friend works atm.

the only thing stopping me from jumping into it is im afraid i wont know anyone and since having my DD i dont make friends very easily.
any information would be appreciated!:D:o

Hi there,

I would contact the MCHC in the area you are planning on moving to. As your bub is still very young, you will probably be able to join an existing mother's group in that area. This will be a huge help for you in terms of meeting other similar-stage mums.
Also, look into playgroups in that area or other activities such as Gymbaroo or a music-style activity.
