Ummm.......it appears increasing blood flow has made other problems more prominent :o
Does anyone have any cures for haemorrhoids/piles while preggas?

Sorry to hear that aggero,I had that problem with all 4 of mine. It is not a nice thing to have. I never used any creams etc during pregnancy and am not sure if you can or not,i would ask your gp. All i used to do was push them back in the shower (sorry tmi i know) but it helped. Hope that it eases for you.

oh alright .. I'm sorry supermum - I just HAVE to post a link to your thread... I know it was AGES ago - but I STILL laugh ... so aggero - this might make you feel a little more 'normal' :hugs:

I haven't any advice for you - I personally would head straight for the chemist... apparently the wipes?? relieve a lot of the itching etc... although it would involve the embarrassment of talking to a (possibly spunky) chemist about your issue

:hugs:

I got them very badly with my second pregnancy.
I found that I would only go to the toilet until I was sure that I would not be staining.
You can get a numbing cream too to add a local anesthetic to them.
Ice fingers can help aswell.

I have suffered from them. When preg i used rectinol but my dr told me there was a better cream that she prescibed. It is called proctosedyl. It complete numbs them and relieves the itching. the itching was driving me insane and it was worst at night. Hope this helps

Im so glad someone started this thread, i didnt have the guts! :o I just noticed yesterday that a haemmorroid has popped out!! I got a haemmorroid during labour with Jayden and it was horrible. I didnt know that you could get them during pg though. Do they go away after pg?? Im worried that the area has become prone to getting them because of my first one with Jayden.

Hi Naomi,
I understand and empathise with you on this issue!!I suffer the same problem. After two children (almost 3 and almost 1) I developed them:eek: . However only did I get them from my last pregnancy:( and after speaking with my obstetrician was I aware that they can sometimes fix themselves, as mine came and went. Unfortunately now they just don't go and are really painful! However do not loose hope and all I can suggest is that you get onto it asap. My ob said that it is advisable to treat the problem early as they can fix themselves. I unfortunately was too embarrased to do anything about it and now have to have surgery to fix it. So don't be embarrased get onto it, as little embarrased me heads off to the bum Doctor!! Oh the joy of having children!!
Many grins,
Kate

I have been told that eating a kiwi fruit a day can help with fibre to prevent new ones. Also, this is something a friend of mines middie told her. When she needs to poo - not to push or strain but use it as a (very mini) practice labour and breathe the poo out slowly.. Have to say I have not tried this myself as I thought it was only men that like to spend forever in the toilet .. but it may be worth a go to stop new ones from forming

Unfortunately, pregnancy and piles have gone together in pregnancy since time began. It sucks. Its just one of those joys of womanhood that the sisterhood conspiracy fail to tell you about in the years up to deciding to have a baby!!! :hugs:

My piles never came out, my main problem was constipation after I had my c/section. If I went to the loo to do a no2 I felt like I was being ripped in 2. AAAAAGH!!!!!

Its funny that people generally gloss over the nast things like piles in pregnancy .. until you are actually pregnanct, then all the nasty stories come out thick and fast!! hehehe.. Actually, up the duff by kaz Cooke covers most of the nasty little ailments as does the girlfriends gide to pregnancy

i do actually have a few remedys that work, although i must admit that i still have a problem with them, mainly due to having to take 2 iron tablets a day , ( doesnt help with regularity) first remedy is to have 1-3 teaspoons of pysllium husks daily,, you can mix it with orange juice is the best , or put it on your cereal in the morning,,, you should drink lots of water with it but i dont find it a prob if you dont drink enough,,and you dont seem to get the runs if you have too much, it just softens your poopies,, also if i get slack and dont have it,i find the piles reappear in about 4-5 days, so try to have it at least every 2-3 days, everyday is beter. 2nd remedy is a god sent from a midwife when i had my first son,, they were huge ,, you could practically see them when i was standing up , and so painful..she suggested to get a pack of cotton makeup pads( round with no edges) and a bottle of witch hazel,, put it in the loo, and everytime you go to the loo, wet a pad and wedge it in your um crack and leave it there till the next loo stop. it feels a little uncomfortable for about 2 minutes but it is so worth it,, in 3 days they will be on their way out,, seriously IT WORKS ,,
i also just found a cream by sunspirit,,( essential oil compay) that has a witch hazel ointment,,you put it on twice a day ,,better if you dont poke them back in, and just coat them, and this works too ,but its abit sticky ,and you would only want to use it after a shower,, so my recomendation, is go get some pure witch hazel NOW! :smiliedance: :ecomcity:

I have had constipation problems throughout this pregnancy which resulted in a bleed the other day.It was so sore  .
To top it off, I also have a cough so when I do cough I hold my big belly, squeeze my pelvic floor and now try and hold my bumhole together! My DH is in hysterics everytime I must look so funny:yes: .

I know how you feel, I still do this now and Im not preggers! I cant feel no lumps or bums though. Just feels really sore when I go to no2! bought a natural laxative to have before bedtime when I got constipated which worked wonders. but still no fun when you got a cough! Slowly getting better now though. Got some cream to ease the sore!!

Why do us women always seem to suffer!!!

It really is a shame that us women suffer! Although because this thread is nearly 3 years old, hopefully aggero's problems are sorted by now :) .. I'll close it now.
