I'm not sure this is entirely the right section for this, but figured it was close enough and someone might be able to help :o

There was an ad in our local paper today under the careers section for a "job" that basically entails looking after and raising kids (in this particular case, siblings), they provide the house, car, cover the power bill, childrens expenses as well as paying you a salary, superannuation as well as holiday pay and bonuses.

It was just listed as 'cottage parents' and is run (I think) by a private childrens home (as opposed to a government one) and I was just wondering if anyone here had heard about this kind of thing who could offer up more information about how it works. My MIL had been asked to do this once when DH was little but decided not to as her older kids weren't to keen, but she thinks it's a great idea, but couldn't speak from personal, practical experience.

I have contacted the appropriate person for more information as it is something DH and I are interested in (perhaps not right now, but one day) but would love to hear more from others experiences :)
