Wondering what the best and easiest way to remove fluff build up on velcro tabs is..

DS's velcro nappies have been falling off lately  and I noticed a heavy build up of fluff, figured that wouldnt have been helping !!

Also can you add snaps to already velcro nappies??

Lice comb or another realluy fine comb will do the trick. The nappies I'm making have an extra option of puting "laundry tabs" on it. These are an added little piece of loop next to the hook so you just fasten it so when you're washing the nappy the hook doesn't get caught and gather fluff.

i sit there with a pin and just pick it all out, its tedious but works.....had never thought to use a fine comb.

yeah i would start with 1 nappy at a time and each night while watching tv or something - just pick it out.

you could add snaps to it but you might need to remove the velcro first. it might be easier to sew in an extra piece of velcro to stick it to - like the laundry tabs.

all these nappies have the laundry tabs.. I think just over time they eventually still gather fluff...

I'll start with a pin today and get a fine comb through the week, thanks ladies....

I cleaned one out really well yesterday, its on him now and after a mere 30 mins of home wear its falling off.. :dizzy: I just dont think we can do velcro anymore....
Hmmm.. now who to talk to about snaps....???

:detective: is there anyone down your way with a snap press ?

if not you could ask another hubber who has one and post them to them. it may cast a bit in postage sendind it both ways depending on how many but even if its around $30 thats the cost of one nappy anyway and you woudl be saving your self from having to buy more KWIM.

i know OJandME makes great nappies so she would know how to place the snaps in the right position. she may help you out

Thanks ladies.. I'll do a bit of Melbourne snap press owner research and if not contact some interstate lufflies :)

I agree the postage cost would be worth it all up

If they aren't staying up maybe its because chubby bubby Ethan has a big belly :), maybe its more the fit. If they are straining a bit then velcro isn't going to cut it.
