Long story short, I have a 2 week old.

Im using nipple sheild for inverted/flat nipples. THey gave it to me in hospital.

Im now getting a decent milk supply and my nipples arent as cracked, and id like to get off the sheild.

I really need some one on one time with a professional I think to sort this out.

Where do I start though. Where do I find these people? Like a lactation consultant.. and will it/how much will it cost me?

I saw your thread and couldn't just go past without responding.

Personally I've never used a lactation consultant - but I think the ABA would be a great place to start. Also, most large public hospitals do have a lactation consultant available for free - so try that avenue as well. I'm not sure how you would go about asking for one though - might need to ask to be put through to the delivery suite and go from there?

I hope someone else can stop by who can help! :hugs: Great work on feeding with the inverted nipples - congratulations!!!

Have a look here:

Australian Lactation Consultants Association (http://www.alca.asn.au/find.php)

They have a great directory, you should be able to find someone near you.

Good luck :)
