Hi ladies,

Sorry I can't talk Dutch :o, but I am half Dutch and so is DH. My MIL looks after DD 2 days a week and speaks Dutch to her, and I suggested that she read some Dutch childrens' books to her. I can't find any that my mum used to read to me :gloomy:

Is there anywhere in Melbourne Australia she can get them? If not it's ok, but do you know a site that we can order on line. A Dutch site is ok, my MIL speaks Dutch. I just can't find one because I don't.

She would ask her sister, but she is on holiday in Spain for 7 months:rolleyes:

Hi there,

what a difficult task to find dutch kiddie books. You can try www.bol.com (http://www.bol.com) It's a dutch company selling all sorts of books & cd's/DVD's and they do send them over here. Also Hema sells books(remember Jip & Janneke ?), they too send them to AU.
Are there any rellies still in NL ? Can you ask them to send any books ?

I'm lucky( in a way) that all of my rellies are in NL and/or Europe, so if needed I can always get something.

Maybe try also for a DVD/cd from Plopsaland, my kids love them (dwarfs & pirates singing & dancing in a big entertainment park, bit like Efteling or like a massive Lunapark totally for the kids)

Good luck

Oooh, I'll keep an eye on this thread too - my MIL is dutch and we're hoping that the kids will be, bilingual through her speaking it to them, and teaching it to them all the time.

We can't find any books here either. MIL went for a holiday a couple of years ago and bought some back with her - a vocabulary book for kids and a story book - but that's not really enough!
