Haven't had my bub yet but he is due in a few months and we are booked into Pindara.

Is it a good place, nice nurses etc? I went there at 7weeks pregnant due to dehydration from excessive MS and everyone was really nice to me.

I am going on a tour later on of the maternity ward too.

It really is an amazing place...I have Dr Cary...I loveee him and my paed is Dr Pincus....loveeee him too:)
I get so sad whenever I go in there now as I remember such an amazing happy and relaxed time I had there with both my kids!
The food is great, the staff are all great including cleaners etc. It was the best experience of my life...both times!
I chose not the breastfeed this time around and all the nurses were fantastic about it....thought they would be a bit rude but were all great!
Who is your ob Rachael? If you havent got a paed, highly highly recommend Dr Pincus

My paed was morrosini, he was also awsome, he has two young girls of his own. I had problems with my baby for the first two months and ended up in hospital again. He made regular visits and truly seemed concerned and even called me on the phone to see if things were ok. They are definately worth the money!!!!
I also miss Pindara, i honestly felt like I was having a holiday being there, Great memories;)

My Ob is Dr. Penny Isherwood, really lovely lady. She reccommended the Paed that we are going with, Dr. Harts.

Mind if I pump you girls for some info?:detective:

Do Pindarra provide nappies, clothes etc for bub or do I bring them?

Is there anything they don't provide which I should definately take along?

Ta guys :) My first baby and I am a bit nervous about it all:eek:

They provide you with most things...heaps and heaps of Huggies Nappies (take some when you leave lol) they use chux wipes for nappy changes so if you want something else take them. They had clothes when I had my son but this time around they said to bring your own clothes but do have some nighties (pretty bad) Also take your own bottles/formula if you are not breastfeeding. You will need to take maternity pads too and lots and lots lol
I am soooo jealous..enjoy it and stay in contact.

Will do Babytoo :)

Your daughter will only be 5months older than my son when he is born.

I plan to breastfeed if I can. Won't know till I get the chance though so I may take bottles/formula just in case.

Beginning to look forward to it, especially with people saying they are jealous lol. Pindara Maternity = Delux Hotel sort of thing is what I am thinking after all these positive posts from you guys.

We were told that my hubby is welcome to stay nights with me if he wants.

Dd any of you choose to do that?

Definately - my hubby stayed the whole time with my son....double bed, very hotel like. Second time he only stayed 1 night as my son needed him home - he was feeling a bit out of place staying at my mum's - poor lil man!

You will love it!

We went on a tour on saturday :)

Seems like a really nice place. Birthing suites are great!! I was expecting something cold and metal etc like out of the movies.

I had a miscarriage several years b4 my son was born and we didn't have private health insurance...I had to have an emergency d & c at Gold Coast Hospital and the very next day we joined up with Private Health Insurance. It was the worst experience of my life - even though the circumstances were bad anyway! Sorry if tmi but I was left in the waiting room literally bleeding everywhere and having serious contractions....the dr was horrible and very impersonal, I had a male nurse whose shorts were ten sizes too small, the lights were out in wards, the lift was half broken...i get shivers just thinking about!
Pindara Rules!:smiliedance:

*waves hands*

Another GC Hospital girl here too. Absolutely terrible experience, not from the midwives during the labour, it was the nurses upstairs in the maternity ward that were the shockers! I was home 48 hours after Wyatt was born because of it!

Pindara sounds like a dream! Lucky girls :D
