Family Dining - | Melbourne - East
Sofias Restaurant

Parent Review: Staff are easy going, and the restaurant has a relaxed environment. There is a kids play area, kids menu and desserts. Young children often recieve a gift upon leaving.

or

Matthew Flinders Hotel Chadstone

Parent Review: There is a big selection of pub food that is really good. There is a playground for the young ones & a games arcade for the older ones. When the kids are happy & busy then the parents get to enjoy their dinner

fantastic - count me in!! :D .. good on you haimanatnom!

I think the Mathew Flinders is a good spot - huge bistro, great kids playground, games for the older kids and if you join the kids club (for free) you get a free kids meal with every adult meal ordered. oh, and you can book out a whole area of the bistro

Just to let you know that the play area at Sophia's, if it's the one in Croydon, is tiny. It's a very small part of the restaurant (half a dozen kids and it would be terribly crowded in there) which is cordoned off by a picket fence with a tiny playgym in it, a coin operated ride and it's surrounded by coin operated toy/ball machines.

Its ok .. we have had one the past few years at a central park with santa etc..

Its no harm having two running.. VIC is a large area and some people will find a restaurant better, some a park... people can just choose which they would rather go to, depending on location etc.....The park one will most likely be at Hays Paddock in Kew or Jells Park in Wheelers Hill...

Is there something more central where everyone can meet like in the city?

I'm just thinking bc Chadstone is pretty far for anyone in the Northern Subs.
