Hi all,

I gave birth 6 months ago to a healthy 4kg girl :), and am concerned that I'm not returning to normal down below.

A bit of history... I'd a healthy preg, was one week overdue
Was induced and had pethadine and epidural- short labour of 4 hours ( first birth)
My precious bundle was delivered with forceps and I was given an episiotemy

Ok- history over- my problem is I don't feel as though things are right down below,
**my periods now last twice as long as previously 8 days instead of 4.

**When I don't have my periods I get a stringy clear jelly-like discharge that I never had prior to being preg- it is odourless though.

** I often feel uncomfortable (not enough to call sore but I could call it an ache) about a fingers length up inside. Especially when I bend over

**I have real trouble with tampons now, and feel as though I am going to pull my insides out if I try to remove one- so I try not to use them- but have to if I want to go swimming!!

** I do my Kegel exercises around 10-12 times a day

** My sex life is suffering terribly

Is this all normal experiences/ is this as good as it gets or should I be seeking advice????

Thanks girls

Maybe bacause you had so much traume down there and it is still trying to heal.
With my first I had a HUGE epesiotemy andshe was delivered by vaccuum too, was still sore for months and sex was painful for a while too. Maybe go and see your gp or even better your gyno just to make sure everthing is ok. I think the discharge is nothing to worry about as long as it's odourless and not a yucky colour.
Periods I say would be normal too, just wait a while and they will probably return to how they were within a year.

I hope I have helped in some way. I thik it is a really good idea you make an app with your gp or gyno just to make sure tho.
