Hi,

I am hoping someone can answer my question. My husband has had a vasectomy 3 years ago. What is the process we would need to go through to have a baby?

Thanks for your replies.

Check out the IVF section and you will find a couple of the girls have gone through this, basically your DH can get a reversal or you can go through IVF they can still "harvest" sperm from him and use it to assist you getting preg

Best of luck

The reversal was fairly simple.....as simple as micro-surgery can be. DH went to the same Dr that did the original op.
Overnight stay in hospital then home on rest. He stayed in bed for 1 day then just light walking...no lifting. He said it wasnt too painful but he never had any pain after the original vasectomy.

It was expensive and no medicare or private health covered it. But we figured that if we had to to IVF or sperm extraction it would have been far more expensive especially if IVF doesnt work first time.

DH has the op at the end of August 06 and I got my :bfp: in January 07....there's no BDing for 12 weeks after op.

Goodluck with it.....let me know if you want any more info

Thought I would let you know that on our second time TTC after reversal we've conceived in the first month!
