Ok so i stole this thread idea from another section :o
However it got me thinking.
What have you ladies bought (if anything) since finding out you were UTD?
My FIL has layby'd us our pram/bassinett/accessories and we have been given heaps of clothes but thats it - im dying to now go laybying things as we are past the 12wks :yelclap:
I think the first thing will be the carseat and we will probably add in there clothes, dummies, maybe a few bottles etc.
This will be our first so i really have no idea haha

Only a dummy so far as they were on special.
I have a son who's 5 yrs old now and I kept most of his stuff but as we came over from the UK I didn't bring the wicker moses basket or cot (as I didn't think it was that great). I gave away the highchair but found those little plastic seats that strap on the regular chairs are great. You can also use them on the floor or take them to restaurants so I'll probably buy one of those instead. I spotted some good baby baths the other day in a cheapy shop and I'm in the market for a good lightweight stroller.
My sis had children before me so took me shopping and advised me what to buy.
You'll find that other parents will recommend all sorts of things that their child loved however I've found that different things appeal to different kids. Our friends recommended those expensive battery operated baby swings as it really helped settle their little girl. We borrowed it and our son hated it.
I used a plug in bottle steriliser last time. Has anyone got experience of the microwave ones?
I havent brought anything yet, i have a special little jumpsuit that has been worn by other children in our family that will be kept for this one.. but we are up in the air about possibly moving to Melbourne b4 the baby is born so have put off buying anything else.. last thing we need is more stuff to fit in a truck LOL
im dying to start buying stuff tho :(

I haven't bought anything yet, I'm trying to sell all the old stuff!!!
Once I get to Brisbane I'll probably start picking up a few things...I dunno, maybe I'll wait for the scan, I'm not all crazy about buying stuff like I was last time, the nursery is what I'm excited about because Ali never had one. So I want to be sure of the gender before I start on that one!!!
One thing I do want is the Boori Matilda rocker, in walnut. :D I'd prefer to buy it secondhand though, because we might not be having another baby for a few years, so there's not much point in another tree being chopped down to make a rocker that will only be used for a short time.
I'm keeping the clothes that I have sentimental attachment to from when Ali was a baby tho, I can't bear to sell those ones.:o

oh and we did get 2 boxes of NB nappies and wipes when they were on sale at coles a few wks ago

I have the microwave sterliser and still using it for my 8 month olds bottles. I love it and it is really easy to use and to clean!!! I have the Avent one, but just coz I have Avent bottles and have 'issues' with mixing brands!!! I recommend using it though coz it only takes 2 mins in the microwave, PLUS if you leave it sealed, the bottles remain sterile for 24 hours. I think it is great anyway.
I haven't bought anything at all for this bubs. As I have said before, I have an almost 8 month old so we have already got heaps of stuff that is still in good nick. Don't really need much baby stuff, although definitely need a new pram (probably a twin or tandem) and will need to buy #1 a bed and furniture too.
Once we find out the sex we may need to get more clothes......will see in about 8 weeks!!!

I meant to also reply to you mrsmamo! With ds1 we had 3 boxes and one smaller packet of NB nappies and were like 'do you think it is enough?'. We only ever used the packet as ds was born 4kg (8lb 13) and grew out of them very quickly. He was in the Infant nappies at about 2 weeks old coz he was 5kg already!!!!!! I ended up taking 2 of the boxes back to Woolworths and they switched them for the next size up (which are crawlers 6-11kg).
However having said all this, most babies are generally in the NB nappies for a while! Don't want to stress you at all. Just letting everyone know of my problem when I was too organised!!

I have lay byed an ergo baby carrier!!!!!
But apart from that nothing else yet. There isn't really anything we need, except some girl clothes if that's what we are having......so will wait till after the scan for that! Knowing me though I will still buy a couple og littel things even if it is another boy!
And I'll be getting/making some more nappies and a little squirt.
And I plan on putting things like maternity pads, dummies, etc in the shopping trolley ewach fortnight.
I think I'll be shopping for clothes for myself before I get anything for bub!

I have also got the avent one and was very happy with it. I have got a full set of bottles too which I will re-use with new teats.
So far I have bought 2 pairs of maternity pants for when I get bigger as I have gone up a size from last time :o
We have bought a maxi-rider carseat for DS and the new bub will use the other one until they are big enough to go in a maxi-rider.
We have also bought a secondhand tandem pram from eBay, which was too much of a bargain to pass up on :)
I will wait until we know the sex before buying much else (such as clothes), although I am on the look out for a new steelcraft strider basinet on special.

Apart from a Sleep Sheep, some SwaddleMes & a couple of cute clothes I bought when buying gifts for other people's babies, I haven't bought anything.
We bought everything new for Wee Man with the intention of using it for the next baby (& the next, if we're lucky - we'd like one more after this). I got rid of everything from when my daughter was little, except a couple of items of clothing that meant something to me.
The only thing we'll need is another car seat but will get it closer to the time.

All I have got so far is DS#2 a maxi rider as it was on sale($287) not really anything else i need as I already have it, the only thing I will have to get is some small summer clothes as the boys are winter babies but I will wait until bub is born to see if I can finally buy pink or if it get to stick to old faithfull blue.
I also got 1 box of newborn nappies on sale no need for to many when you have 4kg babies.

Just got an Aldi email about their specials that are in from Thurs 3rd July. They are getting in lots of maternity and baby things.
Also, I need some help about babies clothes sizes as I've noticed the sleep suits range in size from 000-2  Can anyway give me a rough size/age guide.
Thanks

So what's everyone bought now??? :D
I bought a belly belt :o I've been using a hairtie to keep my pants together, otherwise they press on my bladder too much :p
The sleepsuits, a size 2 is for a 2 year old I thought, and a size 000...that's 0-3 months isn't it?
I can't wait to decorate the nursery, I have 2 to do, one for DS and one for the baby!!! :D

I still haven't bought anything. Have been way too focussed on DS's 1st birthday in November and Christmas. Have seen way too many toy sales and still haven't got much coz I can't decide!!!
One thing I have bought (not really for bub, but need it because bub is coming) is a single bed doona set and sheet set for DS as when bubba comes he is gonna have to move out of the cot and into a bed. I got a gorgeous Elmo one which is really bright and colourful. Got it at the Big W sale.
Will be having my next scan at 19 weeks (5 weeks time!!) so once we know the sex will probably go a bit crazy!! :D

oh we are all slowly starting to compile our stash! :)
we have layby'd some stuff - should hopefully get it out in a few weeks - we got a carseat, some summer singlet suits, towels, face washers, the clips for draws and cupboards (might as well get them while we dont have to 'find' the $$) :). whatelse, we just picked up the basics - we got a microwave sterilizer with 4bottles (pack thingy) for $25 so we thought, even if we just use them when it gets older for boiled water etc, it cant hurt. my mum rang me and said that she got our spew cloths and some toys - she couldnt resist lol. oh and we went to dinner last night and one of our friends had knitted me/us a beautiful scarf and two pairs of booties and a beanie - soo beautiful. :)
