Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? My nearly 5 DD has just run the gamit of SPT and RAST and shes come up with a bunch of allergies, but whats worrying is that the dr called me to tell me to come and see him re my daughters immunoglobulin levels which are up around 400 instead of 100 and that she has strong deficiencies in a bunch of vits and minerals like iron and folic acid.
Im seeing him and a dietician on Monday but in the mean time, Im freaking out. Can anyone help?

Sorry Suzie - I haven't experienced this... Our dietician was able to run our records of my daughter's diet through a computer program called "Foodworks" (I think?) to identify what nutrients she was getting and make sure there was enough of everything. At the time it came back that everything was at 100% of RDI, except for Folate, so we just started shoving brocolli into her. I'm sure your doctor will know best, but maybe if you have a dietician you could ask about getting her diet analysed like this (if you haven't already, that is)?

Hope it all turns out.

Thanks for taking the time to post Katrina. I think that as her vit levels are pretty bad it may take more than just that. THe dr said shes very deficient in iron and folic acid and a bunch more and its because of the allergy levels being so high.
He mentioned all these different types of vitamins like fat soluable ones and some others.
Its hard to know exactly whats going on as I havent seen him yet, just had a teaser of a phone call (which he charged me $40 for!!!!! :banghead:). I just freaked out when he started and as I was driving at the time I couldnt take it all in properly.
Anyway, Im sure Ill find out on Monday. THanks again

Hi Suzie,

Try a naturopath. Sometimes low levels of vits, etc could mean that the body is not absorbing them. I just had my 4 year old diagnosed with leaky gut which means that his small intestine is not functioning the way it should be and also means that he does not absorb nutrients. We did a urine and stool test (that's how it was diagnosed) and we are on supplements to help fix the problem. My naturopath gave me a CD to listen to from Donna Gates on leaky gut and it is very interesting. You might like to google her and see what comes up.

When the leaky gut gets fixed, the allergens lessen.

Let me know how you get on and I'll help where I can.

Regards, Eileen.
