They're blurry because DH loves playing with the settings on the camera so even auto isn't auto anymore:hair:

Its an AIO with a hemp and microfibre (3 layers of each) soaker.

I can't sew to save my life so no form of constructive posting from me, just a big :yelclap: for completing your first nappy! Wohoo!

Thank you. Its a small so when it was coming together all I could think was how cute and tiny it is. Theres a few things I'll know to do for next time, like move the soaker foward a bit more. Its seems to be too far back in the nappy even though I bought it foward more than it should have been. Spose I'm looking at it from the point of view of a mother with a boy though:laughing:

Anyone got more feedback for me? Is there anything else I should concider with it?

I think it look wonderful. Well done :yelclap:

I am gearing up to make my first one and still in the stage of reviewing patterns and fabric choices. You are inspiring me to pull my finger out and just get on with it.

I guess you will be an expert soon and I can bring all my silly questions to you :)

Have you tried it out yet?

No. My boy is only in nappies of a night and thats a small. I'm actually going to be making them to sell. This one though will be kept for my own stash for #2 due to it being not quite right.

Looks great!! About the only thing I'd suggest is sewing the hook and loop tape onto the outer layer only and reinforcing it with a layer of microfleece or whatever your inner layer is. I find doing this gives the hook and loop the stability it needs while also keeping the inner flush against bubs tummy. In saying that though, I generally make pockets and only did my first AIO tonight and used snaps instead of hook and loop.

It looks fantastic!! Well done :yelclap: Is that coloured PUL you've used for the outer? I've been using plain white PUL and putting a cotton printed outer to make the nappies funky.

Thanks:D I am stoked.

Ange&Seth I think I understand what you're saying. Are you saying to leave the inner layer (suede cloth in this case) loose when I'm sewing on the loop? As in just sewing it to the flannel and PUL? Ok I've confused myself:laughing: not hard to do though. Oh and yes its colour PUL. ATM thats all I'm going to be using.

I was going to put a bit of extra loop on the outside of one of the tabs so if bub is skinny one tab can over lap the other. Another thing I saw on one was "laundry tabs". An extra bit of loop sewn in right next to the hook so you fasten them for washing and the hook won't ruin anything else by getting stuck to it. Do you think I should add that feature?

Yep that's what I mean :)

Yeah one of my gfs made me one with this and it was handy when I remembered to use them but I don't put them on mine. I do the nappy up and then turn it inside out when washing - so that it doesn't get caught on anything and the inner is definitely getting washed.

Well get to it woman!! We've just rearranged our spare room and I've got my sewing machines set up full-time and I have spent so much time in there in just the past week that it's been set up. I actually had to take one of the machines to the doctor today - I think it was a bit overworked :o

my only problem is, is that i don't have somewhere to have it set up. we have our house fro sale so we have pretty much cleared everything out so it looks all pretty.....
someone needs to come buy it so i can get a sewing room

look great but just a suggestion - 3 layers hemp and 3 microfibre are they all sewn on the inside? They'll take forever to dry and may not be quite dry all the way thru even tho it feels it kwim? Thats when they start to get smelly
