Help!!

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong with my greens?
My DD's clothes are getting wet up the back and slightly to the side.
I stuff them with one hemparoo folded as instructed with a microfibre placed on top of it inside the pocket. Is there a trick to it that I am missing?
Should I be leaving a slight gap at the back between where the pocket opens and the hemp/micro ends. Currently I have it sitting just a little below the opening....should I be leaving a bigger gap so it doesnt wick out????? :banghead:

Hello

Here are a few troubleshooting tips for you to try:

•Ensure the hemp inserts have had at least 3 hot washes with washing powder before use, to remove the natural coatings on the fabric which repel liquid. The hemp will continue to increase in absorbency for the first 10 washes.

•Some barrier creams will create a water resistant layer on the surface of the nappy, preventing it from working correctly.

•Do not use Fabric softeners when washing the nappies, as these will also prevent the nappies from working correctly.

•Ensure the nappy is done up snugly around the baby’s legs, so there is no gaping. To do this, stretch the Aplix tabs out firmly when fastening, stretching the back elastic to ensure a snug fit.

•Make sure the insert is laying flat inside the nappy. It shouldn’t matter that the insert is near the top of the pocket, as long as it is not hanging out of the opening at all.

•Do not overstuff the nappy, as this may prevent the nappy from working correctly. During the day, you should only need 1 hemp insert, which will allow freedom of movement for your baby. At night, the nappy will easily fit 2 hemp inserts, or a hemp insert as well as a microfibre insert.

I've had it happen a few times too except its always out the legs. I stuff mine with a flat terry nappy. I cant do it up anymore than i do, as it is its as tight as it can be. I find that the velcro comes undone of a day too :o

Wow, how great is that service from Greens nappies? thanks Sasha
As I have washed the hemp and microfibre a zillion times (slight exageration there) with only a teeny weeny amount of powder, I didnt think that was the problem. I seemed to have solved the problem with the leaking by leaving that little bit of a gap at the top. :smiliedance: So far it is working and Im rather pleased because A) Im doing the environment a huge favour and B) my DD looks absolutely gorgeous with that little bubble butt :yelclap:

I think i harassed her every day for like months :o
Now its just to bug about new fabrics LOL
Seriously guys Greens have the best customer service any questions ask ! :smiliedance:
Dont worry i had a few dramas the first week or so with mine but once i got stuffing right etc it was all great going from there onwards ! Oh & another thing i realised if i got over zealous trying to get the nappy on especially with a wiggly bum LOL i sometimes had the inner section of the nappy rolling out so would need to roll it back in so the PUL was protecting it as i found this was where it would wick.
Ive even realised i was over stuffing my dreamytimes DOH !
Good luck once you get the hang of it life becomes a breeze !

A question if i may :)

I got a hemparoo with the red stitching & was wondering how to fold it to use as a stuffer?

Thanks

The hemparoos are folded opposite the stitch lines, into thirds. This means there are 9 layers of hemp in the middle, and 6 layers on either end.

There are pictures on the website under 'Information' then 'Use Instructions'.

I hope that helps!
