There was an out break of this where I work not too long ago. I am pregnant too and took the precaution of leaving work and seeing my GP. I had a blood test to confirm that I already had immunity to it.
I'd call a health line or speak to my GP about it. I felt better after getting tested.

Well just an update.... its been along 24 hours,lol...

I went to the doctors this morning and he believes my 9 month old has 'slapped cheek'. He has had all the symptoms in the last week. He wasn't that sick though. Just a slight fever and runny nose (i thought he was coming down with the flu and gave him panadol for his fever) then the next day a rash over his face and today, 5 days on the rash is still there but alot better. At first i thought this was teething rash. I probably would not have taken him to the doctors and would never have know except another baby in my family was diagnosed yesterday at the hospital - he had a really high fever and it was confirmed by a blood test.

So my doctor says my 9 month old will be fine now since he is over the worst and its just an untreatable rash now.

As for me, i'm 26 weeks pregnant... he said this is good and problems usually only occur when exposed prior to 20 weeks.

However to add abit of stress to my day he refers me to the Mother's Hosital and tell me to go straight there. OMG i was so scared. At the hospital they were really good and helpful. They decided that they would give me a blood test and want me to organise a referral to have an ultrasound done ASAP. They checked bub's heartbeat and that was good. They want to do an ultrasound now and blood tests and ultrasound again in two weeks. They explained there is a good chance I am immune to the virus anyway and told me if i have any problems at all to come straight into the hospital. It was all very reassuring and they stressed the need for me to monitor bub's movement etc all the time and if i was concerned to call them.

I'm feeling much better tonight. At least I have done everything I can do and now i just have to wait and see. The doctors were great and so understanding. I am SO glad they didn't just blush this off and are planning to monitor my bub closely.

I'll keep you posted and would love to hear from anyone else experiencing or experienced this situation, good or bad.

Thanks heaps
