hi guys, i'm from perth but live in brisbane at the momnet. my little DD has been ill over easter and because there were no dr. surgerys open on easter sat, we were referred to this number that took your details and then sent out a doctor FOR FREE. i don't think this happens in perth does it. the doctor arrived within about an hour on a saturday morning and all i had to do was sign a medicare slip (bulk billing for children under 16) and then they pass on the notes to your normal doctor.
isn't that fantastic because normally a locum is really expensive.
just thought i'd share that............

I live in Brisbane and have never heard of that service.
Would you mind PMing me the details ?
Is it the Family Care Medical Service based in Spring Hill that you are talking about? Here is the link here http://www.familycare.com.au/fcms/friendly_society.html
We are members and it is just brilliant, you get a doctor to come to your door every week day from 6pm till 8am during the week, from 12 noon on Saturday and all day sunday. They bulk bill you, if you are a member you also receive priority service, sometime you have to wait 2 hours or so but better in your own home than in a waiting room. You can ring them to see if your GP is a subscriber but if not you can nominate another doctor. It is such a great service and well worth the money to join. I can recommend it to everyone.
Sorry to hear your little one was sick hope she is better now:)
