new to cloth pads

hi:wave: I just started looking in this section:D what I want to know is there a thread somewhere that has all the info a new cloth pad mum needs?
Sort of like the cloth nappy info threads that are sticky? I have searched a few pages so far and not found alot, and yes Im lazy lol:p
I have soo many questions about cloth pads, like what kinds, how to wash, where to buy, how many you need etc. Thanks:thumbsup:

if you google obsidian star she has a site that is jam packed full of info & everything you need to know about cloth pads, washing, making, list of where to buy etc.

As far as how many you would need... work out how many disposibles you would use & how often you will wash and get that many. eg, if you use 6 pads in a day & will wash every 2 days, then you'd need about 15-18 or something like that (to allow for drying time).

With washing, I put them straight in a container with cold water after use, then give them a rinse & chuck them straight in the wash (advisable NOT to use fabric softener as it makes them less absorbant). They don't need a special wash, just in with clothes is fine.

I managed to use cloth pads for about 3 or 4 cycles & then fell pregnant:rolleyes: Still using my liners though & stocking up now on overnight/postpartum pads for when the bub comes.
