Thanks for introducing yourself. Sounds like you might be hitting the "close thread" button, which actually closes the thread to prevent more ppl posting, it doesn't just exit the thread.

Just read through the posts in the areas that intrest you and start posting away. Read, read, read and post, post, post - it's the only way to get to know ppl. The FAQ and How to guide (accessed from the top menu) are pretty handy and there's some generally useful stuff in the contacts section (right at the top of all the forums).
