1 year old - how often does yours wake during the night?

Hi,

I am just curious to see how many other parents out there have 1 year olds who still wake up during the night, and just wondering how often?

My DD wakes up quite a few times - probably more than when she was a newborn lol..

Ds hardly woke up during the night when he was 1 year old, even now he hardly does. However, I knew that when he was still sleeping in the cot, he would put himself back to sleep when he woke up. Unless when he had a nightmare.

When he first moved to the big bed, he used to wake up up to 10 times one night. He now back to sleeps through again, but when he does wake up once, he climbs down and walk into our room:yes:

Usually none or once (if he's wriggles up to the top of the cot and hits his head is the usual reason).

But if he's sick, teething, has wind, pain, whatever (i.e. quite often) then he will wake a few times a night but I only have to go in and put a hand on his chest and he's back to sleep - maybe 20 seconds of my time. But that can happen 10 times in an hour, until whatever is upsetting him has passed.

Longest my DD has ever slept in a long stretch is 4 hours.. But she's usually up every 1.5 - 2 hours during the night :(

I am so exhausted with it all.. I just don't know what else to do. It's all well and good to have a partner who helps me, but that doesn't take away from the fact she still wakes so often!

that's hard work. We have some nights like that, but fortunatley not many. I'm glad you've got a supportive partner.

I don't know if it would help you, but I started bringing DS into our bed when he woke because that way we all went back to sleep much quicker.
