Asking for help

Hello, I am taking all my courage in my hands to write this message. I realise what an immense act of empathy and generosity is is to donate your eggs to help someone. Thank your for taking the time to read this, I don't really have the words to express myself well enough but I am trying because of my enormous longing for another child.

My kind, loving husband and I have been blessed with two beautiful children. It took me a long time to find person I could trust to have children with. We have both found so much joy with our children. I have truely found I think my vocation in life to be a mother. I have always cared for and loved children ( I am a teacher) but it was not until I had my own that I realised just how amazing it is to care for, nurture and love my children. It is the best thing that I have ever done.

We would both dearly love to have another child. We both come from large families and I know deep down our family is not complete. Unfortunately now I am in my early forties. I have suffered around 9 miscarriages and I need the kindness of an angel donor to help us.

We live in Sydney. I am a full time mother and my husband michael has a good job. We have a dog and a cat and a rambling garden. I am happiest when I am with my children, husband and friends. We spend time walking to the park, painting, cooking, singing and telling lots and lots of stories. My family makes me laugh and smile everyday.


I am pretty new at writing on line like this so I am a bit clumsy but if you think that you would like to know more about us or would like to talk about egg donation please do get in contact. We would love to meet you. We would be glad to welcome you into our lives if you were comfortable with that. A child can never have too much love nor too many aunties and uncles in my opinion!! We are prepared to travel and we would of course cover any expenses.

I have been trying to write this for a long time now and I know I have not been able to express myself well enough. I am hoping to get better with time! I am amazed at the courage and generosity of the women on this site. People here give so much of themselves.

Dear Zoe, thank you so much for your kind reply. I feel so much better having written my request. I am very new at this on line posting and I am usually one who prefers to help rather than ask for help. It is very humbling don't you think? It is wonderful news that you have found your donor. Your story has given me much hope and inspired me to write.

Reading your ad feels so much like our story. Looks like we have lots in common. :shakehands:
The urge to have another child is so strong, isnt it. From the amount of miscarriages we have both had it looks like we both believed that we would eventually be able to do it again. Now I know that it isnt possible with my own eggs I am so glad I have found this site. It has been a big step for me too to reach out in the hope of finding someone who might be willing to donate their eggs to us. I'm hoping that she's not too far away.

I know what you mean about feeling clumsy about being on a forum. (I'm a relative newbie too). It is fantastic though to have found a site like this, the ladies who make it possible are great.

I've just responded to something you wrote elsewhere but just thought I'd add a little here:


I have truely found I think my vocation in life to be a mother. I have always cared for and loved children ( I am a teacher) but it was not until I had my own that I realised just how amazing it is to care for, nurture and love my children. It is the best thing that I have ever done.

I totally get what you're saying here. It is so very true that being a mother is the best thing ever. There is nothing that can compare to looking into those beautiful eyes as you hold your little one, or when you watch them take their first steps and the wonder and awe that they have for every part of life. There is nothing at all that can compare to any of it.

That rush of intense love, beyond anything previously imaginable when you hold your baby is incredible, a love that both strengthens you and weakens you is indescribable. There's nothing that can ever prepare you for that.

I was blessed with my little baby many years ago, and of course he's much bigger now but none of that has changed. I still look at him with wonder and the love I feel for doesn't shift no matter what. I just want to provide him with a sibling at long last.

Thanks for writing that! You put it so beautifully. Another wonderful thing I think that grows out of your love for a child is that you develop so much more empathy and patience for others don't you think?

I am wishing us all much luck in our journeys and crossing our fingers in hope that we find our donor angels.

Hello, girls, thanks for your thoughts. This waiting is hard isn't it? I am thinking that maybe I should do some wider advertising. I have been trying to join AED but I can't seem to get passed the join page. My details keep getting flicked! Any ideas why this might be happening?? Hugs to you all

I had trouble too getting through to AED when I first tried. In the end I just emailed the wonderful ladies there at the address below and i was on in no time.

Hello Nicholle thank you for your message. It is an amazing act of generosity to consider donating and to take the time and trouble to find out what is involved. You are an angel!! And your message gives us all here such hope I can assure you!

I am no expert on the donating side of things sadly but there is quite a lot of information on donating in the stickies at the top of the donating thread. Some very wise, kind and wonderful souls have shared their experiences and thoughts for the benefit of us all. Again I want to thank you for considering donating. Hello every body and thank you all for your kind wishes. They are very much appreciated and very warming (soo good to get in this this cold, cold weather). I hope that you are all well and feeling positive and hopeful. I have had some great news that I have been scared to talk about in case it all evaporates in a puff of magic smoke-it all feels a bit unreal. I have been contacted by an amazing angel who is keen to donate. She is the most lovely human being and I am a very much in awe at her maturity and generosity of spirit. I know it is very early days yet but I wanted to let you know because I know how encouraging it is to learn of the existence of these amazing souls who are willing to help just because they can. I wish you all clouds of babydust and I will keep you all posted.
