I was just wondering if anyone has experienced surgery for this and what the recovery period was like for you?

I havent had this surgery, but I have worked with people who have. There are lots of different ways the Gynae can fix this problem and the recovery is dependant on what actual surgery you have and if it is done through the Vagina, abdominaly and sometimes a mix of the two or Vaginally with laparoscopic assistance (key hole).
Generally though if you have a Vaginal repair, and nothing else (because you can also have posterior repair or hysterectomy or tubal ligation at the same time) you will have a catheter for urine and a pack in you vagina for about 12 hrs. After this period the pack and catheter are removed and the staff will assess your ability to pass urine either by checking the ammount you pass and then checking the ammount left behind in your bladder with a scanner or an other catheter (this is because they sometimes do too good a job and you cant pass uring for a few days due to swelling). When the Gynae is happy you have passed urine you will be discharged home. So if you have not complications the hospital stay is anywhere from 2 days.
Hope this helps
