Hey,

I am loving the nice cool mornings! Last dry season was hot and muggy.
I like Darwin, but don't love it. I couldn't see myself living here forever.

Seems like there are a couple of people from Darwin slowly popping up.

So Emma where were you living before Darwin? Do you like it up here? Do you enjoy the defence lifestyle? Your hear alot of negative things about it but I went through 3 years of it with my husband and 2 deployments and I only have great things to say about the lifestyle. But everyone tells a different story. :ecomcity:

Spinky, I agree about the weather although it does seem to be heating up again. Need to hope the coolness comes back. I feel the same about Darwin, it's ok however I don't think I want to be here in 10 years.:barf:

Wonkey, welcome to the Darwin thread. There hasn't really been much happening in here as there doesn't seem to be many Darwin members around. Congrats on the pregnancy. I read your post in the newbies section and i know exactly what you mean about peoples jaws dropping when you tell them you have a baby and your pregnant again. My son was born in September last year and I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with number 2. My husband and I moved up here in May last year and intend to be here for the next few years anyway.

hey Tamara,
i was in sydney before we moved here. I really like the defence lifestyle. It has its bad points, like deployments but all in all they generally take care of you pretty well, and its makes finances a bit easier when considering to be a stay at home mum or not!

Hi Wonky!!!!

Hi ! yes its fantasic to see others from Darwin on here :-)

So considering we are from darwin did anyone end up going to the Big Kmart and Big w sales? ( for up here anyway, they also had them everywhere else :D )

My husband and I did, and we were waiting in the lay by line for 1 hr 45 mins. I tell you I felt like a dill but we got what we wanted, thank goodness

So well worth the wait. :)

My apoligies! People form katherine too, and you know maybe others from al over the NT, very rude of me just to stipulate Darwin :(

I used to live in Katherine for 5 years, we moved up half way through 97.

and have lived in Darwin ever since. My husband is trying for a transfer to Adelaide with his work, as we would like a change of scenery :D So we will see what its like.

My apoligies for being so rude! :D
