Hi there,
My DH's cousin and wife had their baby on Monday, weighing in at 800g @ 26 weeks gestation.
We are wanting to put a little package together of clothes and other things that bubs would need and would love some suggestions from mums with premmies or have had premmies.
Also is there any really good places to go to get premmie bubs clothes???
TIA for this, I really have never had an experience with premmie babies before and really want to get them something a bit special.
I found Pumpkin Patch great for clothes. They can be hard to find though so you might have to ask at the counter.
I also got alot of use out of the waffle bunny rugs, they are very easy to swaddle with and you dont always have to put clothes on underneath.
Im sure your cousin will appreciate anythin you bring. Its always nice to know that people are thinking about you.
(perhaps a book or trashy mag for mum? there is usally alot of sitting around in the nursery)
Good luck with everything:hugs:
Maybe u could get the bub a good luck charm to hang from the crib??
My GF had twins at 24 and 25 weeks and i didnt want to buy clothes and stuff till they could wear them, so i got a charm that ment gift from heaven and put it on a neaklace and they put it on the outside of each of the bubs humi-cribs.
Hope this is still of some help. When my little one was first born my sister had brought in a little stuffed girafe that rattled. The nurses hung it from her IV stand so it was watching over her while I couldn't be there. That little toy made me feel like the whole family was thinking of her and there with her in spirit when none of us could physically be with her.
earlybirds.com.au have premmie clothes.
Max and Tilly make some premmie clothes (sold at myer, DJ or google them..) they are really soft and a lot cheaper than earlybirds but still have the opening fronts for the lines etc that bubs has attached whilst in hospital.
With my bub she didnt wear clothes in the humicrib (just nappy and singlet) so it was about 2-3 weeks post birth that we put clothes on her and 00000 premmie brands were still too big but functional. (Dont buy the target 00000 as they have big bottom areas and are not practical - well I found bub just got her legs out of the leg sections and curled up in the middle - I hope that makes sense).
Hope that helps :)
My baby was born 14wks prem.
My sister gave me a gorgeous photo frame where you can add a small photo of baby every month & then on their 1st birthday you add a 1year olf photo in the middle.
This was great coz premmie babies change so much over the 1st 12mths.
I love to look at this frame all the time & see how much my DD changed over her 1st 12mths. :)
