my DD is 3.5 months old and is exclusively breastfed. I always planned on weaning her at around 3 months - problem is she wont take formula! Its not the bottle cause she will take EBM out of the bottle. I really want her weaned by 6 months and was wondering if anyone out there has any tips on getting a baby to take formula when they dont like it (dont blame them really its not that nice of a taste).

Any advice would be appreciated!

Have you tried mixing some EBM in with the formula? You may also want to try different types of formula.

I was just about to suggest the same thing

Are you trying to feed her the bottles? It's best to have someone else do it and not even be in the room.

My bub was the same. I introduced her to little bits of solids each night for about 2 weeks (different veggies not a lot) then tried her on formula again one night about the same time (making sure she was due for a feed) and she started taking it. I think it worked because of the different tastes she had experienced.

I know being 3 1/2 months may be a bit early to introduce solids, but it's just a suggestion.

Good luck!
