View Full Version : High BP - how can I lower it?
I saw my OB yesterday after a mini freak out. i had some pains that had been happening for 4 days. All is fine ;)
But she took my BP and it was up again. Last time it was 140/70 and yesterday it was 155/80.
I need to see her again in a week and she said if it's still up she will put me on medication. She said while it isn't super high, when I get stressed or upset it will rise and she wants to lower it a bit so if it raises it is still within a normal range.
But I am wondering what I can do to lower it?? Does anyone have any tips??

The two things that I can remember being told...........
exercise -lots of walking
reduce your salt intake, particularly adding salt to things.
Good Luck!
my bp started rising while i was pregnant... my ob told me to stop driving the car... and to rest. he said i had to stay calm and not add on stress... like driving everywhere!!!
good luck!!!

I got high bp around 20 wks with my last bubs ,
doc recommended walking , but found that made it worse :( light swimming would be better maybe )
also laying down an putting pillows under legs helped , i cut back on a lot of bad foods an that would of helped but i was to much in love with KFC at time :(
keep up your water um some times no mater what u do it may no help as it can be a preg related thing :(
i was over weight which didn't help mine , the bigger i got , the worse mine got :(
IMO if it is pregnancy related there is nothing you can do. Tha's just the way it is- I am on meds since 23 wks cause of BP- and all is so far going ok:fingerscrossed:...
When I asked the docs what I could do, all they said take it easy and rest.
Hope it all resolves for you.

My Grandma is always sending me articles, and one of them said that bananas are good for lowering blood pressure. :)
