me and dh really want one but they are $40
Are they worth that much?
Do they work all night long with no leaks?
What is the best cover over the top?
could u put a disposable over the top?
or a disposable then the cloth nappy? or are they really really good?
have u got 1 or do u need 2 to cycle through?
at the moment he wears a disposable at night and we find his clothes with pee on them. please help
he does go to bed with a sippy cup half filled with water (half filled because if it was all the way filled imagin how much more pee there would be)
thank you

no ones tried them? or can suggest an alternative?
When my DD used them they were fantastic. Never had a leak. She used to wet through a BBB pretty quickly overnight. I used just the sandman with a wool cover or longies / soaker.
I personally think they are very worth it. :D
Hi there they are a good nappy - if you do get one, get the bamboo rather than the hemp. They didn't work for us because my DS is a super heavy wetter though, so if your DS is wetting through a sposie it might not work for you.
You will need a cover - wool pants (shorties or longies) would be best as a cover.
I don't think you can put a disposable under, definitely not over as they are quite bulky.
You need 2 night nappies definitely as a minimum, but I think 4 to be safe because they take ages to dry because they have so much bamboo.
I think a better option (although goodness know I am having trouble with these too) is the Krap Katcher.

They work just fantastic for DS (16 months). They are quite expensive but I found they have never leaked even slightly and he is a heavy wetter.
I have 3 of them but I could have got by with 2. They take quite a long time to dry in winter due to the many layers so I'm not sure you could get away with 1 unless you use it every second night or tumble dry.
It would be massive overkill to put them with a disposable over or under- part of the beauty of them is how breathable they are and a disposable would ruin that. Plus it really isn't needed, they are good enough without it.
If you were really worried about weeing through then you could add a booster pad on the outside of the nappy between the nappy and cover- but its unlikey you would need it, Sandman's hold several large wees per night.
On top the most secure cover is wool, especially a pair of longies with no pyjama pants over the top. This combination has never let us down and it cuts down on washing covers as well. In summer he wears wool shorties but if you prefer PUL covers, I don't see why that wouldn't work.
Every baby is different but they have worked very well for my bub so far. Good luck

Check Sustainable hemp products. I think there is a sale happening there. We just got our first one. I tried it on DS and put him to bed and he pooped in it with in 20 mins, so don't know how it will go yet. Mind you he did the same thing with his Krap Katcher.

I think $40 is worth it for a good night time nappy. We have 3 of them, while I don't like the microfibre they are still a good nappy.
Try Michelle at sustainable hemp she is lovely.
I think for a really good night nappy, $40 is good... Especially if it can save you time & money by not having to wash bed clothes & pj's every day! :D
I think Sustainable hemp products have three for $100 or something.
I just got my first Sandman in the mail yesterday (thanks justmum!) so haven't used it yet, but it looks ACE.
If you want a night nappy that's all natural, try a Mirabai night. I've just ordered one, and am ACHING to get it on my little guy !!! I'm finding that even though PUL is breathable, Lincoln still ends up with a red bottom after being in anything with PUL for 12 hours :(.
Good luck with your choice!
