Little Catch up chat with May mummies 08

Hey Guys

Just an idea, but wanted to do a small little catch up chat on our bubs to see what everyone else's bubs is like. Just copy and paste and delete answers to add your own, feel free to add any more 'stats' if you like.

Bubs age now: 3 weeks 2 days

Bubs favourite thing: Boobies!

Bubs likes/dislikes the car: Likes mostly

Bubs likes/dislikes swaddling: Dislikes

Bubs comfort item i.e dummy, boobs, etc: Boobs!

Baby likes/dislikes having (e.g bath, story, going for walks): Bubs likes baths.

Your favourite thing to do with bubs: Cuddle at night and boob him to sleep.

Bubs age now: 2 weeks 4 days

Bubs favourite thing: Cuddles with mummy, being held in the air by daddy, watching his big sister!

Bubs likes/dislikes the car: Loves it, goes to sleep every time.

Bubs likes/dislikes swaddling: Not overly fussed, take it or leave it.

Bubs comfort item i.e dummy, boobs, etc: putting his lips in my mouth :laughing:, boobs!

Baby likes/dislikes having (e.g bath, story, going for walks): Lincoln hates the bath, he cries every time until I'm finished.

Your favourite thing to do with bubs: Kiss him, watch him sleeping, give him a massage, walk through shopping centre holding him and listen to everyone tell me how gorgeous he is :D

Baby likes/dislikes being naked: He hates it, and pretty much always wees (usually on me :rolleyes:)

Other things baby likes: being pushed in his pram, laying on the floor (on his tummy) having nudey time, going to sleep with the tv on, watching mummy, daddy & emily, kisses with mummy

Bubs age now: 4 weeks and 6 days

Bubs favourite thing: Boobies!

Bubs likes/dislikes the car: Love it

Bubs likes/dislikes swaddling: Only when really tired. If not overly tired will cry until her arms come out and she can put both her hands on her face.

Bubs comfort item i.e dummy, boobs, etc: Boobs! dummy just for bed. Although we have only just been able to get her to take the dummy.

Baby likes/dislikes having (e.g bath, story, going for walks): Bubs likes baths, car trips going to work with daddy and walks with mummy.

Your favourite thing to do with bubs: Have a bath with her.

Baby's sleep routine at the moment: No real routine during the days. She will be up around 7am and have a sleep somewhere between then and lunch. Then have 2 little sleeps between lunch and dinner. Goes to bed around 10pm and sleeps till 3am ish. Then back to bed till 7am.

Bubs age now: 4 weeks and 5 days

Bubs favourite thing: Her cot

Bubs likes/dislikes the car: Likes it - will generally fall straight to sleep as long as we don't have to stop in traffic!:crying:

Bubs likes/dislikes swaddling: Dislikes - she loves to be able to be able to move her hands.

Bubs comfort item i.e dummy, boobs, etc: Boobs! Dummy on the very odd occasion that she just needs a little bit of a comfort suck in her pram or rocker.

Baby likes/dislikes having (e.g bath, story, going for walks): Siana loves her bath and being rocked in Mummy's arms. She loves her pram for walks as well.

Your favourite thing to do with bubs: Cuddle.

Baby's sleep routine at the moment: She's a good sleeper although it's always an unknown as to how long her sleep stretch will be at night. Generally she goes to bed at 8:30 and sleeps until 2:30 then goes back down at 3:30 until 6. During the day she has a morning nap, a long sleep from 12 - 3ish then another nap in the late afternoon. She would probably sleep longer if it wasn't for a stompy foot 4 year old :p

Bubs likes/dislikes the car: Likes it, unless hungry then screams the whole time

Bubs likes/dislikes swaddling: undecided. sleeps better if wrapped, but sometimes fusses while i wrap him
Bubs comfort item: dummy, rocker with vibration on

Baby likes/dislikes: dislikes his bassinet :hissy:

Your favourite thing to do with bubs: Cuddle.stare, shower with him

Baby's sleep routine at the moment: what ever. hates sleepin at night. i just spent 45 mins getting him to go to sleep in his bassinet. i want to persevere with him goin gto sleep in it.

Your favourite thing to do with bubs: Cuddle, feed him, try to catch smiles

Baby's sleep routine at the moment: No proper routine at the moment. Taking each second as it comes, Tyler pretty much leads the way!

Bubs age now: 5 weeks and 5 days

Bubs favourite thing: Boobies & Daddy

Bubs likes/dislikes the car: Likes although does not like being put in the car. As soon as the engine starts he falls asleep

Bubs likes/dislikes swaddling: Dislikes if his arms are in, but will tolerate if arms out. Now we have him in a sleeping bag which he seems to like more.

Bubs comfort item: Left thumb so I think he may be left handed

Baby likes/dislikes having: Loves baths with daddy. Dislikes being offered the second boob if full.

Your favourite thing to do with bubs: Cuddle on the lounge together

Baby likes/dislikes being naked: Does not mind, except for when he comes out of the bath and is cold

Other things baby likes: Being pushed in the pram, his ‘magic chair’ (Fisher & Price Bouncer), falling asleep on Daddy’s chest (bad habit daddy has got him into)

Baby's sleep routine at the moment: Sleeps for about 1 hour between feeds during the day – feeds every 2 – 2.5 hours. Sometimes sleeps a bit longer in the morning. At night sleeps from about 10 pm – 2 am and 3 am – 7 am.

Thanks for the replies ladies, i thought it would be a good quick way to catch up on the little things our bubs do, as i'm sure we have reduced time these days with little ones occupying it so much. Thought we could keep updated every so often as they grow bigger and have little personalities develop. :D :thumbsup:

Bubs favourite thing: Boobies and cuddles with mummy.

Bubs likes/dislikes the car: Loves the car, always fells off to sleep.

Bubs likes/dislikes swaddling: If his tired he loves to be swaddled but most of the time he doesnt as he loves his hands out.

Bubs comfort item i.e dummy, boobs, etc: Mummy and nanny, he doesnt have a dummy.

Baby likes/dislikes having (e.g bath, story, going for walks): Jaylen loves his bath he will stay in there for ages kicking and looking around, he loves going up the shops and having a bedtime story.

Your favourite thing to do with bubs: Cuddle him and talk to him.


Baby likes/dislikes being naked: He hates being Naked.


Baby's sleep routine at the moment: Only wakes once a night, day time sleeps atm is all over the place.

Bubs favourite thing: Mummy, Daddy and Dummy

Bubs likes/dislikes the car: Loves it, unless she's hungry and then nothing will stop her crying.

Bubs likes/dislikes swaddling: I think it makes her feel more secure, as she falls asleep better when wrapped, but, she usually has worked at least one hand out by the time she wakes up - the little Houdini!

Bubs comfort item: Tries to suck thumb, but lacks the coordination to actually get it in her mouth. Loves the dummy.

Baby likes/dislikes having: Loves having deep, warm baths, and the dummy / vibrating bouncer combo always settles her.

Your favourite thing to do with bubs: Cuddles / cosy early morning feeds in bed.

Baby likes/dislikes being naked: Doesn't mind either being naked or being clothed, but isn't too keen on getting dressed and undressed

Other things baby likes: Loves being carried in the baby bjorn, sleeping on Daddy's chest and watching her butterfly mobile when she's getting her nappy changed.

Baby's sleep routine at the moment: Usually only wakes once a night to be fed, but likes lots of feeds in the afternoon and evening. Sleeps best between 1am - 11am, and then only short naps in the arvo. Is getting better at settling herself between 10pm and 1am, but Mummy has to keep putting the dummy back in a lot!
