:wave:Hi all. Just curious if anyone knows any yummy afternoon tea type party foods. Its DD's party next weekend and i am out of ideas.

ATM we are doing a cob loaf, mixed sandwiches, bacon and egg tarts, lollies (yes i do let them have lollies...its a party:rolleyes:), cheezles, chips, and some patty cakes.

It is just an afternoon in the park with alot more adults than kids. Roughly 40 adults and ten little kids (i have a really large family). So please let me know what you think.....

That sounds perfect to me!

You could go crazy with a heap of things, but then you would be making all morning & lugging it all to the park!

If you wanted to add more - sounds weird but you could go with popcorn - there are heaps of recipes about on the web to make it coloured which is pretty fun.

Sorry about that, I have a bit of a fetish with fairy bread lol.
Now, for adults I think mini quiches, kabana, pickled onion, cheese and crackers on a tray,

Kids: sausage rolls, pies, lil hot dogs in pastry ummm i dunno wat else

I wouldn't bother with anything else.

Getting it all prepared (particularly pre-cooked stuff) takes forever and just makes you p*ssed off by the time you finally lug everything to the park... especially because you've got to be there before your guests arrive, so you HAVE to make sure you're on time.

The easier the better IMO.

maybe some slices that you can make a day or 2 ahead and have them cold on the day, ya know jelly slice, caramel slice etc

definitely do some fruit .. I love snacking on fruit .. and so does my son (2) .. grapes are REALLY yummy atm .. even if you just had a bowl with grapes, strawberries and one other fruit .. its good to have the healthier option :)

Yes, Fairy Bread! You have to have Fairy Bread!

I'll come and eat it for you if the kids dont! HAHA
